1946 - Professor Phillip K. Hitti's Testimony on the Question of Palestine

If you want to get a good perspective on the question of the Zionist rape of Palestine - just before the 1947 breakup of historic Palestine into a Jewish state and a Palestinian state - read the testimony given by the Lebanese-born Professor Phillip K. Hitti (Princeton University) before the Anglo-American Committee in 1946. (Link at the very end).

Hitti (Left) seen here with the Ambassador of Lebanon to the UN, Charles Malek, who served as President of the Commission on Human Rights and the United Nations General Assembly, and as a Minister in several Lebanese governments. During the Lebanese-Palestinian War (1975-1982), Malek was a member of the Lebanese Front, a council of leaders opposing the Palestinian-Syrian takeover of Lebanon. He was one of the drafters of the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

I should note the rare coming together of the English and the Americans in a congressional hearing. They were of course the allied victors of World War II... but to join in a hearing over Palestine - there was no Israel yet - suggests an Anglo-Saxon convergence of interests over Palestine, not to say conspiracy, to grant the Zionists their wish. In fact, this was the period when European powers (England, France, among others) were declining because of the war, and the Americans were essentially replacing the British Empire and inherting the disasters it had created around the world (India, South Africa, Palestine...)

The arguments presented by Dr. Hitti - on historical and religious grounds - are so soundly against the Zionist imperialistic drive that his testimony is prophetic as to the disaster the creation of a Jewish state over the ashes of indigenous Palestine would visit upon the region.
