In the words of Erika Kirk, widow of White Rightwing MAGA extremist Charles Kirk, “evildoers [are] responsible for my husband's assassination … you have no idea what you just have unleashed across this entire country and this world,” she said. “The cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry.” Americans always think that "the world" begins and ends within the borders of the continental US. Billions of people around the world have never heard of Kirk or his assassin and don't give a fuck about what happens inside the United States. Same thing when sports events in the US are named "World Series" when it is played between American teams no one has even heard about. It's that genetic megalomania that makes Americans so full of themselves.
Be that as it may, and despite her idiotic megalomaniacal declarations, Erika Kirtk's ”BATTLE CRY” says that, even in mourning, the MAGA supremacist fanatics love violence and continue to throw fuel on the fire they started when their Fuhrer Messiah Donald Trump declared war on democracy, on the country and on its institutions. Charles Kirk echoed all the racist, misogynistic, supremacist ideas that Donald Trump had begun normalizing long before he entered the political fray.
Underground armed white supremacist groups, the likes of the KKK, the NRA and the multitude of other armed white race militias, that had been relegated to an underground world since the middle of last century, have resurfaced into the open by Donald Trump and the entire Republican cadre of submissive cowardly politicians across the nation. When they had several opportunities to cast him away, they chose to let him off the hook, time and again, demonstrating their loyalty to their ideology and their party rather than to their country.
Ms. Kirk’s “Battle Cry” is another “Call to War” that Donald Trump has already declared on this country. His renaming of the Department of Defense (coined at the end of WWII in the aftermath of the wars the US fought overseas) into the Department of War is a clear signal that he wants to wage a domestic war here at home. Didn’t he vow in his creepy “America First” slogan not to wage wars overseas, in an echo of the nativist republican reluctance to fight in the wars of others, which the world witnessed in every world war of the 20th century? In calling for his America First, Donald Trump believes that the only war that is worth fighting for is the war of the white Anglo-Saxon protestant first settlers of this country against all those that followed them, slaves and immigrants from the far corners of the world.
For these slaves and immigrants are those he considers the real enemies of White Protestant America: Migrants, Blacks, immigrants, Catholics, Asians, Hispanics, and each and every one who is not a White Anglo-Saxon Protestant. The White American community is now divided into factions on the verge of open civil war:
One faction accepts the foundational ideas of the republic as eternal, universal, immovable across time and circumstance of history, even when this adolescent country is still growing, its composition changing, its wave after wave of immigrants continuing to build it and transform it. This faction recognizes that only through a process of slow, gradual, incremental hybridization of the various components of the Melting Pot that a new country will emerge.
The other faction is now reacting to the inexorable forces of change. They regret and reject the foundational ideas of the republic because, in their fossilized conservative mindset that does not understand change, they realize that those foundational ideas and all the self-aggrandizing slogans of greatness the founding fathers proclaimed, must apply to all people, including the slaves they forcibly brought from Africa, and those million others who followed the original settlers into this land who are not protestants, who are not white, who do not speak English, etc.
Which is why Donald Trump is turning the tables on those foundational ideas and the institutions they spawned because they embrace the waves of immigration that followed the first English-stock and Anglo-Saxon settlers. In their nativist conception of the world, the constitution was written only for white English settlers with names like Washington, Jefferson, Madison…. But since these settlers could not foresee a world they will one day have to share with others because of progress, evolution and change, they made very broad universal declarations on justice, liberty, and democracy. They even accepted the idea of a “melting pot”, although in their ignorance they assumed it will be all the others melting their identities into the Great White cesspool.
As the world changed as it normally does in time, the conservative Anglo-Saxon settlers and their descendants began to disagree with their own ideas. Just as the ultra-religious radicals of the Zionist settler movement are doing in Israel as they realize they have to share the land they stole with the original owners of the land, the native Palestinians, they recently declared Israel to be a “Democracy-for-Jews-only”. So, the “desert blooming” fantasy they declared upon massacring wholesale the indigenous Palestinians turned sour very soon. An Israel Democracy was no more: Ultra-religious Jewish supremacy is the norm, and a state of endless of war is the norm as long as there are Palestinians willing to fight.
Our conservative Christian neanderthals of the American brand are taking stock of the same realization: They thought they, and only they, could own this land, but all colonial settlers of other people’s lands inevitably end up realizing that the land they stole is actually not theirs, at least not entirely: When they landed in Jamestown and later in Plymouth as illegal intruders in a land not their own, they may not have foreseen that they were going to fight with the native Indians as well as all the other intruders – Spaniards, French, Dutch, etc. After genociding the native Indians, they warred with their own people first (England), then with the other European settlers, and now with all those immigrant non-English, non-European settlers, whom they forcibly (Black Africans) or reluctantly (immigrant labor) allowed into the country. And every time they rebel against the persistent overwhelming tide of changing demographics, the white conservative Americans lose a little ground. Then they “sit” for a while, and try again. Right now, with Donald Trump, they are trying again to reclaim power over a reluctant mass of hybridized Americans.
“Melting Pot” no more! They now want America to be their “Democracy-for-White Anglo-Saxon Protestants-only”. This is at the core of all conservative movements in the US from the middle of the 19th century onward. Resist against the inexorable dilution of Anglo-Saxon whiteness.
Ms. Kirk’s “Battle Cry” is exactly the Call to War that the white conservative republicans want. They always wanted it but were afraid to openly call for it because of concepts like democracy, justice, equality, liberty. But Donald Trump has opened the floodgates of self-rejectionism: His MAGA movement is openly and flagrantly destroying the foundational ideas and institutions of his own country because it fears losing the stranglehold on power it has had for 250 years. The constitution, the checks and balances, the judiciary… All these concepts and institutions have now become obstacles to their desired perpetuation of a slowly vanishing status quo of the past 250 years: White Anglo-Saxon Protestant supremacist rule at any cost, even at the cost of violence, militarization, division and potential social disaggregation.

The man arrested in connection with the shooting of ultra-right-wing MAGA radical Charles Kirk on Wednesday has been identified as Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old white man from Utah. Robison is now considered not just an assassin, but a full-fledged US-born white American terrorist.
Robinson is believed to have acted alone. He is expected to be formally charged and make his first court appearance on Tuesday. He was arrested on suspicion of aggravated murder, felony discharge of a weapon causing serious bodily injury, and obstruction of justice, according to media reports. Aggravated murder carries the possibility of the death penalty in the backward ultra-religious Mormon stronghold of Utah.
This assassination, and all previous political assassinations of the past 10-15 years indicate that the political chasm that has so far separated the two White American tribes has turned into a civil war. Donald Trump has, for that same period of time, become a catalyst for the unfolding political violence. His speech and discourse is laden with violent imagery and incitement, not the least of which is his leading an insurrection mob to attack Congress and try to subvert the results of the 2020 election. Trump and Kirk and their followers represent that faction of the White American community that refuses to budge on its stranglehold on power, namely the Republican-GOP-MAGA white Christian nationalist faction. The white terrorist Robinson is, ideologically at least, a member of the faction that has heretofore rejected violence but finds itself cornered into a defensive position against the extremist violence of Donald Trump, Charles Kirk and their ilk.

Trump has incited violence against the Democrat faction. He is now reaping the fruit of his incitement. Maybe that has always been his strategy. He doesn’t want to wage wars overseas, but he surely looks like he wants to wage a domestic civil war against the Democrats and what the threat they represent to his “Democracy-for-Whites-Only” America.
