Another Texas "Reverend-Pastor" Caught with his Pants Down

So many of these Evangelical preachers pastors - backers of Trump - have been caught in recent months in sexual abuse scandals. Shouldn't RFK Jr declare a pandemic in that backward state of violence and ignorance?

Just like the Catholic priesthood that attracts closeted gays and pedophiles. No difference, except that the protestant evangelicals can marry and have normal sexual lives, while Catholic priests make a vow of chastity that they most frequently violate.

Second pastor at North Texas church resigns over ‘sexual sin and moral failure’

The lead pastor of Frisco’s Hope Fellowship Church has resigned after confessing to “sexual sin and moral failure,” according to statements from the North Texas megachurch.

A letter sent to congregation members and shared by the church accountability blog Watchkeep says that lead pastor John McKinzie resigned Sept. 14 after confessing during a meeting with church elders to committing “sexual sin.”

“As a church, our hearts are broken and we are devastated,” the statement reads. “We grieve not only the sin itself but also the pain and disappointment this brings to our church family and community.”

Out of respect for the involved parties, the church’s elders did not provide any additional details about the activity that McKinzie admitted to, but described it as a “pattern of consensual behavior,” according to the statement.

In January 2025, Hope Fellowship fired its youth pastor, Jerry Nickerson, after officials said Nickerson confessed to having “inappropriate contact” with a child a decade prior to his time at the church.

Hope Fellowship is a nondenominational church and has three locations: one in Frisco, one in Prosper and another in McKinney, according to the church’s website.

Nickerson was a student pastor at the Frisco location and made the confession after “being unexpectedly confronted” about past incidents, which occurred while he was an adult volunteer youth leader at another church, the Star-Telegram previously reported.

Nickerson was immediately terminated after confessing to the behavior, McKinzie wrote in an email to the congregation at the time.
