Kirk was a Far-Right Racist Extremist, all his Charm and Youth Notwithstanding

I don't think that Kirk's youthful charm on one hand, and his assassination on the other are mutually exclusive. Many young and charming young people, indeed schoolchildren, are cute and all and get brutally killed by maniacs claiming their second amendment rights. 

Yes, he, like the 20,000 innocent Americans who are gunned down by gun-obsessed imbeciles and maniacs, did not deserve to die. His youth, his being a father, and every other "charm" he may have had do not change the two concomitant facts: He should NOT have been killed because killing other people is murder and is illegal; but he was a racist fascist right-wing extremist. 

I feel sad for his death, but I can never forget his mysognistic, racist, inappropriate, hurtful comments about many of his fellow Americans. Criticizing Kirk for his Radical Right extremism doesn't mean applauding his killing. Just as criticizing murderous genocidal Israel does not mean hating Jews or Israelis. There are many Americans who couldn't stand Kirk but they never wished him dead. There are many Jews around the world who can't stand what the barbarian Netanyahu is doing to the Palestinians, but they never wish him dead! Remember that the peacemaker Israeli Itzhak Rabin was gunned down by a Radical Right Zionist, and Israelis believe that Netanyahu was behind Rabin's assassination. For example, New York City socialist mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani labeled Kirk a 'far-right extremist', but publicly told a group of supporters that Kirk's shooting was "horrific" and "yet another victim of gun violence in a nation where what should be a rarity has turned into a plague.

That is the kind of nuanced moderate posture that makes the most sense in an environment of extreme polarization. Remember too that up to the moment when Donald Stump walked on the political stage, the discourse was still relatively moderate, despite the shrill heard around the world from the still closeted right wing racist extremists who went ballistic overt the election of the first African American president. Together with his white nationalist reptilian backwoods inbred morons, Trump launched the official and public descent into the cesspool of violence and hatred in which we wade today.

Trump and only Trump is responsible for the hellish place that the US has become where your opponent's speech should be silenced and canceled, while your own hateful rhetoric and incitement should be protected by "free speech" regulations and norms.

The Radical Right (White Christian Nationalist) sees its 250-year old monopoly over power slipping away from its hands. 

Trump is the public and in your face reaction. It is not shy and it is ugly.
