Gerrymandering is the practice of manipulating the boundaries of electoral districts to give one political party an unfair advantage over others. This can involve techniques like "cracking," which spreads voters of one party across multiple districts, or "packing," which concentrates them into a single district.
The Texas barbarian republicans want to gerrymander the state's election districts to give them an advantage at the 2026 congressional elections. They want to redraw the lines of electoral districts within the State of Texas so that Democrats are always in a minority in any dictrict, which ensures that only republicans get elected. This is changing the rules of the game in the middle of the game.
Because this is the dictator Donald Dumb's idea, it is obviously dishonest and cheating. The republican slaves of Donald Dumb comply and obey without a hint of decency and political fair play. They know that the Moron-in-Chief's disastrous performance will certainly turn the table on their own dominance in the Texas legislature, so they are preemtpively trying to re-design the district lines to ensure that no Democrat can win and ensure their, and Trump's, grip on the Congress. Right now, the republicans have a razor-thin majority that is very likely to fall apart in 2026 and give the Democrats control of the House. Same thing in the Senate.
In their despair, GOP-MAGA criminals are almost suicidal in their fraudulent methods to retain control. The imbecile moron governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, is pushing a gerrymandering bill to prevent any Democrat from winning in 2026. He has a republican majority already in the Texas legislature, but he wants more to premept a disaster in 2026. He does need a quorum of two-thirds for a session of the Texas house for its cheating bill to be legally binding, but he does not have that two-third majority. The Democrats are fighting back againt Abbott's criminality by leaving the state and denying Abbott the quorum.
As the fight escalates, Abbott is threatening to arrest and imprison the State's Democrat representatives who have left the state.
If Democrats want to defeat Trump, they're gonna have to jump in the gutter to join him. You can't fight dirt with clean hands.

As things stand, about two-dozen Texas Democrats are inside a hotel auditorium in Chicago watching on TV their Republican colleagues foaming at the mouth and threateneing “consequences” for the Democrats.
Meanwhile, in the state's capital city of Austin, the Democrats who didn’t flee the state hunkered down for the final 15 days of a special legislative session set to end Aug. 19. They gathered to address, in part, a mid-decade redistricting proposal pushed by President Donald Trump.
They are protesting the remapped congressional lines designed to keep Republicans in power during next year’s crucial midterms. And it underscored the high stakes of the standoff.
Democrats, who broke quorum by leaving the state, now face an uncertain path. Past quorum breaks, like their 2021 effort to block passage of an elections bill, have been minimally successful. Without quorum, the Republican-controlled state House can’t vote on the plan that could cement its party’s power in Congress next year. It appears that Trump himself is leading the cheating charge by his Texas Republican chattel.
Earlier in the day, appearing on the MAGA influencer Benny Johnson’s show, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (who has been caught in an adulterous extramarital affair that is said to have influenced his actions and decisions while in office, leading to accusations of bribery and misconduct) acknowledged the struggles ahead for Abbott and his fellow Republicans, said Abbott should have chained the Democrats to their desk and not let them out of the door.
In solidarity with the Texas opposition to the republican gerrymandering, several blue states (New York, California, Massachusetts) are embracing a full-fledged systematic gerrymandering of their own congressional districts to deny republicans seats and thus compensate for their potential victory in Texas if they succeed in their gerrymandering.
In California, Democrats plan to redraw the state's congressional map for the 2026 election, countering the Texas Republicans's cheating plans.
Gov. Gavin Newsom said Monday that Democrats are moving forward with a plan to put redistricting plan before voters on Nov. 4. But state lawmakers will craft a "trigger," he said, meaning California voters would only vote on the measure if Texas moved forward with its own plans to redraw Congressional boundaries to add five more Republican seats.
"It's cause and effect, triggered on the basis of what occurs or doesn't occur in Texas," Newsom said. "I hope they do the right thing, and if they do, then there'll be no cause for us to have to move forward."
