White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt is facing heat for a new claim about President Donald Trump that critics found pretty easy to disprove.
“President Trump is the most transparent and accessible President in American history!” she wrote on X as Trump called reporters into the Oval Office on Monday, where he signed executive orders targeting flag burning and cashless bail.
Trump was “accessible” in that he spoke at length and made some wild and bizarre claims and misspeaks.
But critics had a harder time with the word “transparent” to describe Trump.
They were quick to fire back at Leavitt, reminding her that the president hasn’t released files related to the late sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein, as he and his allies have repeatedly promised.
They also pointed out that he’s been less than transparent on other key issues, including his failure to release his tax returns as well as the refusal to provide more complete medical information amid new questions about his health:
Then release the Epstein files.
And Trump’s tax returns.
And his ACTUAL medical records.
And the transcripts of his Putin meetings.
And the WH visitor logs.
And the Mar-a-Lago visitor logs.
And his grades from Wharton.
And tell us what left you all so “ashen” in Anchorage. https://t.co/MRnihQnG6D
