Any nation that "trusts" the United States because it is receiving money from it is only selling its conscience and its security.
The US is about to betray the Kurdish people for at least the third time: Trump is withdrawing US troops from Syria and abandoning the Kurds to the brutality of the Turkish occupation of large swaths of Kurdish territory in eastern Turkey. Both Bush presidencies in the late 1980s and 1990s abandoned the Kurds to Saddam Hussein's chemical warfare after telling them to rise up against the Iraqi dictator.
The US has for the past 50 years abandoned the Christians of Lebanon to the brutal and dictatorial regime of the Assad dynasty and to the Islamic fundamentalist regime in Saudi Arabia, the successive dictatorships in Egypt and other decadent Islamic Gulf Arab countries. And right now, it can't even impose on its murderous Israeli Zionist militia to withdraw from south Lebanon per ceasefire agreements signed by the US itself.
As I predicted two days after the 22-February-2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine - in a posting I have since deleted (and which I reproduce below), Trump is now stabbing Ukraine in the back, treating it like a shithole country standing between his own perceived greatness and the greatness of his friend the Russian butcher Vladimir Putin. Trump will negotiate with Putin while the Ukrainians are kept out of the negotiations table (just like the Republican administrations of Reagan and the Bushes did by negotiating over Lebanon with the Syrian butcher during much of the 1980s and 1990s with the Lebanese absent from the table).
Just like Lebanon back then, Ukraine is now a passive object of, but not an active player in, the US-Russian negotiations. The terms of the Trump-Putin betrayal deal give everything Putin wants and leaves Ukraine's territory truncated, its NATO accession denied, and without any guarantees that, once the deal is signed over and behind Ukraine's back, Putin would not invade again and take and annex the rest of the country (and beyond it into Poland and Hungary and the Baltic States).
That is exactly what the Republican administrations of Reagan and the Bushes did when they sold Lebanon to a 30-year-long brutal Syrian occupation in exchange for Syria releasing western and US hostages held by Syria's own proxy terrorist groups, or joining the anti-Saddam Hussein coalition, all of this while Syria topped the US State Department's list of State Sponsors of Terrorism and engineered all acts of kidnapping, hostage-holding, brutal shelling of Lebanese cities, assassinations of western envoys and diplomats, and bombing of US and French embassies and peacekeeping forces.
No nation should trust US foreign policy because it is never based on the much-heralded but deceptive so-called western values. Making a deal with the US is always a Faustian deal in which a nation trades its sovereignty and soul for American dollars: Egypt, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and other Arab countries are all currently up to their eyeballs in a Faustian deal with the US, at the cost of losing Palestine for good.
Remember the imbecile criminal Trump's reaction to the Feb 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine? [as reported on https://www.businessinsider.com/donald-trump-vladimir-putin-ukraine-invasion-justification-genius-savvy-2022-2?op=1]:
Trump praised Putin's justification to invade Ukraine as 'genius' and 'savvy'
- Trump praised Vladimir Putin as "savvy" following news of an impending Russian invasion of Ukraine.
- "This is genius," Trump said of Putin's recognition of two breakaway Ukrainian regions.
- He said Biden shouldn't send troops to Ukraine and he'd "rather see our southern border protected."
Former President Donald Trump praised Vladimir Putin in a podcast interview on Tuesday, describing the Russian president's justification for invading Ukraine as "savvy" and "genius."
In an appearance on the "Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show," Trump said Putin's recognition of the independence of the Ukrainian breakaway republics of Donetsk and Luhansk — two-thirds of which are controlled by Ukraine and are not recognized by most other nations but backed by Russia — was a smart move.
"I went in yesterday, and there was a television screen, and I said, 'This is genius.' Putin declares a big portion of the Ukraine — of Ukraine — Putin declares it as independent. Oh, that's wonderful," Trump said when asked about the news. "I said, 'How smart is that?' And he's going to go in and be a peacekeeper."

This is a copy of the post I published two days after the 22-February-2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine and the promises made by the West to Ukraine in response. Do not miss the last paragraph because it summarizes the whole idea.

Lebanon Iznogood
Thursday, February 24, 2022
Syria’s Foreign Minister, Faisal Mekdad, declared his country’s full support to the Russian invasion of Ukraine and said the Syrian government will recognize the two breakaway regions of Donestk and Luhansk as independent countries. Adopting Putin’s pretexts for invading its neighboring country, the Syrian Minister said, "What the West is doing against Russia is similar to what it did against Syria during the terrorist war”.
Meanwhile, the United States and its European allies are set to announce fresh sanctions against Russia, as fears deepen in the West of a new war in Europe.
Syria has been a staunch ally of Moscow since Russia launched a military campaign in Syria in 2015 that helped turn the tide of the popular revolution in favor of the dictator Bashar al-Assad. Russian air force mounted a long and bloody campaign of air bombardments on major Syrian cities, decimating tens of thousands of Syrian civilians, under the pretext of attacking Islamic militants. [Israel is doing the same thing in Palestine: decimating tens of thousands of Palestinai civilians, demolishing their homes and their refguee camps, under the pretext of attacking Hamas militants]. Russia maintains a major air base in Hmaimin and major naval bases on Syria’s Mediterranean coast. With Putin’s help, Assad launched chemical attacks against his own civilian population, in what are considered major war crimes and crimes against humanity.
During the 1975-1990 war in Lebanon, Syria’s invasion and occupation of its smaller neighbor saw major battles between the Lebanese Resistance and the Syrians, as well as months-long sieges by the Syrian artillery against Lebanese cities. I personally lived through two of these sieges during which the Syrian army wantonly shelled civilian populations, mostly in Christian towns and neighborhoods, that were huddled in shelters. Syrian soldiers and allied terrorist groups (like their puppet militia of the Syrian Social Nationalist Party or SSNP) set up checkpoints and kidnapped thousands of Lebanese people who were either killed or taken into Syrian prisons where they continue to languish to this date, and where their identities were altered so they could never be found and identified. The West, led by the United States, declared the Syrian occupation a “peacekeeping” force, just as Putin is doing in Ukraine, and endorsed the Syrian “presence” (the US State Department refused to label it an occupation) as a "factor of stability". When, after September 11, 2001, the US finally realized its monumental blunders in its Lebanese policy, despite Syria's campaign of bombings, hijackings, assassinations and kidnappings of Western and US soldiers, ambassadors, teachers, clergymen and others, and lifted its endorsement of the Syrian occupation after the assassination of Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, the Syrian army withdrew from Lebanon in 2005, after three decades of torment and mayhem.
Incidentally, Israel too favored the Syrian occupation of Lebanon and had an agreement with the Syrian dictator that he could do whatever he wanted in Lebanon as long as no Syrian air force would fly over Lebanon, while Israeli air force was given free rein to bomb anything that moved under Lebanese airspace and maintained its own occupation of southern Lebanon. How convenient that the two supposed enemies got along so well while Lebanon was turned into a deadly shooting range. No wonder the Lebanese exercise equal opportunity hatred to both Israel and Syria.
A warning to the Ukrainians: Do not trust the Americans or their European poodles. They will eventually make a deal with the dictator in Moscow and you’ll be the only ones left to suffer and agonize.
