Kylie Brewer's TikTok video addresses how many white people confuse discomfort with oppression, urging them to take responsibility.
Kylie Brewer said in her TikTok video that many whites confuse discomfort with oppression, and she urged them to take responsibility.
The video is titled: "Most wh!te people think discomfort = oppression…"
"Someone who was raised MAGA, I can tell you with certainty that most white people confuse being uncomfortable with being oppressed," Brewer says. "Most white people have never experienced true hardship ever."
Brewer stated that white people usually speak indirectly to each other.
"Even the way the white people communicate with each other is very indirect. It's very passive-aggressive," she said. "When you put a group of white women into a room together, the way that we discuss with each other, if there's someone who doesn't like someone, especially with conservative women, it's very, very indirect."
She explained why the accusation of racism can be so painful for some people.
"So to be called out for racism to them is quite literally the worst thing that you could say. That's like insulting them or being racist to them," Brewer said. "They're in their minds. That is the equivalent of it. That's anti-whiteness because they in their minds are so entitled that they can't do anything wrong."
She clarified who she is speaking to in the video.
"And I'm saying they, because I'm talking about racist white people who get incredibly defensive," she said. "And again, guys, as another white person, this is not oppression. This is correction."
There is a difference between someone's rude words about your race and your own bad behavior, Brewer mentioned.
"There is a big difference between someone being rude to you because you're white and them responding to your bad behavior," Brewer said. "So take accountability for it. It's not oppression."
She ended her video with the conclusion.
"White people aren't oppressed. White people cannot be oppressed, especially in America," she said. "So shut the f*** up and do that internal reflection. Bye."
