And beneath the standard murderous violence of American culture lies a secondary level of physical macho violence exemplified by the way American police forces (from local sheriffs to state troopers and all the way up the rank and file of the FBI) present themselves to the American citizen: Bedecked with all sorts of military equipment that makes a simple cop look like a mounted medieval knight. Or the barbaric worship of athletes based solely on physical strength while intellectual skills are degraded as "nerdy" and boring. Never mind that the actual power of the American superpower did not come about from cowboys, athletes, oversized superheroes, cops or Mafia brutes, but rather from all the smart "nerds", overwhelmingly foreign-born immigrant scientists who developed the science and technology on which American power really rests.
Yet, Americans are convinced they live in an "advanced" (with the subtext beneath that word implying civil and civilized) society, without ever questioning the criteria behind that false belief. Why? Because they are bombarded from the day they're born with mediocre education, targeted advertisements and brainwashing political "marketing" telling them that they live in the best place on earth, as long as they are conformist, submissive, obedient consumers of American-fabricated mythology. American citizens are no longer known as "citizens" except when they have to prove that "they have the right to live here". The phrase "American citizen" has been replaced by such market-driven coinage as "consumer", "patient", "client", "customer", "buyer", "seller", etc. depending on which hangman corporation is handling the torture and the brainwashing.
To outsiders, Americans appear like a large herd of tamed simple-minded buffaloes imported from the most savage boonies of the world and made to live in a large enclosure surrounded by corporate guards and mind-controlling freaks who feed them, but never let them out of the corral. They are told they are conditionally "free" as long as they stay inside. Any escapee from the corral is deemed unpatriotic and a traitor. Which explains why many Americans who dare leave the fake paradise to live outside discover the paucity of their lives inside the corral. How many times did I have to hear an American expat make the sad contrast between the superficial life they lead in the US and the emotionally and intellectually rich and satisfying life elsewhere.
'Something happened'
Just days before Antoinette Forbes was reported missing, the sisters had spoken on the phone as usual on weekend mornings, Aileen said.
She FaceTimed her sister on Saturday morning. They talked about their weekend and the week ahead — an ordinary conversation between two sisters who were especially close, she told CNN.
They planned to talk again the next day, but Aileen never heard from her, she said. As the days passed without contact, the family grew increasingly concerned. Aileen said she knew something was wrong when she reached out to her sister to tell her she had Covid-19 and did not receive a response.
"She's a very busy woman. She's got a full life," Aileen said. "Single mother, highly successful professional."
Forbes works as the associate vice president and head of public affairs at Eli Lilly, an American multinational pharmaceutical company, according to her LinkedIn page. The company is supporting police efforts to find her and encouraged anyone with information to contact police, a spokesperson told CNN.
"We are deeply concerned for Antoinette and are thinking of her and her family in this uncertain time," the spokesperson said. "We hope for her safe return."
But above all, Aileen said, her sister is a mother of a 10-year-old boy.
"(He) is Antoinette's life," Aileen said. "Antoinette is a 100% solid, reliable, intelligent, competent woman who is a devoted mother. She would never leave her son. She wouldn't leave her dog. She wouldn't leave her sister who needs her."
After days went by without a word, Aileen alerted family friends, Louis and Margarita, who live near Forbes' home and have a key, to check on her, she said. That was Monday, Labor Day.
Margarita texted Aileen after entering the home.
"I think something happened," the message said, according to Aileen.
"My heart stopped after I read that text," she said. Louis then called and described what they found.
Inside, according to her friends and family, were Forbes' two phones, including her work phone. So were her wallet and her laptop. Her car was in the driveway. Her dog, Max, was also at the house.
But Forbes was gone.
Police say investigation is active
Police declined to say whether Forbes' home had surveillance cameras and whether investigators had reviewed any footage from the home or canvassed neighbors for video.
For Aileen, the waiting has become its own kind of torment.
"Today it's getting harder," she said. "We're getting later into the week, and some of the dark reality is hitting me."
But Forbes' friends and family are not ready to give up hope, and they are asking anyone who may have seen something – however small – to come forward.
"We need to know what happened," Aileen told CNN. "Someone had to have seen something, anything, some small thing, seen her. We need the evidence that's going to enable the police to do their jobs and bring Antoinette home."
The police department is asking anyone with information about Forbes' whereabouts to call 202-727-9099 or text 50411.
Rachel Clark, who says she has known Forbes for 13 years, shared a Facebook post appealing for help in finding her, saying those who love Forbes "are doing everything we can to keep her name, her face and her story in front of as many people as possible."
"She is brilliant, hilarious, feisty, fiercely loyal, and the kind of person who shows up for the people she loves," Clark wrote alongside photos of Forbes.
Clark told CNN she misses her friend and is "eager to bring her home."
In her post, Clark urged the public to look at photographs of Forbes and to contact police with any information that could help locate her.
"Antoinette, there are so many people looking for you and fighting for you," Clark wrote in the Facebook post.
"We love you. We miss you. And we will not stop until you are home."

A 47-year-old woman was arrested by the San Jose Police Department for stalking and committing hate crimes against a family after a viral video captured her making derogatory remarks towards a father and his 6-year-old daughter based on their skin color.
The San Jose Police Department arrested a 47-year-old woman accused of stalking and committing hate crimes against a family after a viral video captured her accusing a father of being a pedophile because he had a different skin color than his daughter.
The police responded to reports of a hate-motivated crime that took place on September 6th in the 6400 block of Aspen Creek in the Almaden area, stated the San Jose Police Department.
According to investigators, the woman pulled up to the father and his 6-year-old daughter multiple times while they were walking together along a pedestrian and bicycle trail and proceeded to make derogatory remarks toward them.
The father recorded the event and uploaded it on TikTok, where it went viral. In the video, the woman tells the father she is recording and that she works with "the feds."
"I'm making sure that you're not sex trafficking this poor little girl, who's very unhappy to be with you. It doesn't look like your child," she states.
Despite being called out on her comments, the father, who said that he is brown and his daughter is half-white, continues walking. She continues, "That's a white little girl, and you're a man of color, so I believe you're either buying or selling or trafficking this child."
Police used automatic license plate reader cameras to track down the silver Honda Fit she was using. The assaults team conducted an additional investigation, which concluded that there were other hate crimes committed around the city, one of which was committed on September 9th at a high school in South San Jose.
She was arrested on September 10th and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on charges of stalking, hate crimes, among other charges. The investigation is still ongoing. The police department has not said whether the investigation proved her accusations against the father.
Police have not publicly disclosed the woman's name. Some sources have identified her as Lindsay Hansen.
The hate crime against the school prompted the San Jose Unified School District to issue a notice on September 10th to families that a woman harassed members of the school community, taped them, and shared the recordings through social media. A post was alleged to capture her taping herself in the girls' locker room of a South Bay high school while accusing physical education teachers of sexual misconduct, as per NBC Bay Area, which also indicated that her profile had numerous videos and posts relating to religion, race, and sex.
In an open profile that she had, the woman identifies herself as a professional who exposes child sex traffickers and uploads information that she says shows trafficking rings, images of which seem to be edited and produced by artificial intelligence software. Additional posts in the same profile included her statements against the Jewish people, Muslim communities, Asian immigrants, and the LGBTQ+ community. Investigators have not yet commented on those posts.
The woman was reported missing in 2022 due to her significant mental health issues, according to KTVU. A journalist found the Honda Fit in another part of the Almaden area on September 9th, and her father refused to comment.

Because of worldwide marketing of the "American Dream" hoax, many around the world are bamboozled into thinking they will find heaven on earth if they sneak inside the corral. Would CNN have emphasized that some other missing woman is "Caucasian woman" if she were a white woman? The insistence of Americans at always viewing people through the superficial lens of what they call "races" is the legacy of racism, colonialism, eugenics, barbaric Christianity and white supremacy. There is the "us" (implying but never stated "white") and then there are all the other "races" (Africans, Asians, Arabs, Hispanics...). "White" is the default American. And since the "us" rule, there is no need to designate whites as whites; it is implied. No wonder also that the custodians of demographics in the US insist on every piece of garbage bureaucratic paper they make you fill that you specify your "race", which stands in sharp contrast with the real fact that the American population is one of bastards of every "race" on earth, thanks to a legacy of rapes by white settlers of native Indians, Black slaves, and the natural fornicating profligacy of the human species.

A terrified family is pleading for help in finding a woman who has been missing for more than a week after she disappeared from her Washington, DC, home without her phones, wallet or car.
Antoinette Forbes, 53, a single mother of a young boy and a beloved sister, was last seen in person Friday, September 4, in the 3200 block of Nebraska Avenue NW, according to the Metropolitan Police Department, which has released a missing-person poster seeking the public's help.
Police haven't released any information about her son.
Forbes is an Asian woman, 5 feet 2 inches tall and about 115 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, police have said. Her clothing at the time is unknown.
Her family and friends say the circumstances of her disappearance are deeply alarming: Forbes' two phones, wallet, laptop and car were all left behind at her home, along with her dog, Max. The front door was unlocked.
"We're in absolute shock and horror," Forbes' older sister, Aileen Forbes, told CNN on Thursday. "We have our own very close-knit immediate family, but we have a very large extended family. We're horrified."
An investigation is active, police told CNN, declining to share further details.
Elizabeth Northrup, a friend of Forbes' with whom Aileen is staying as they search for her sister, told CNN they do not believe Forbes left her home voluntarily.
"(Law enforcement) certainly checked all the hospitals. We also have had friends check hospitals. She has not flown," Northrup said. "She did not walk out of that house and go voluntarily."

Alison Williams, who said she has known Forbes for nearly 30 years, told CNN affiliate WJLA the disappearance has been harrowing.
