Conservatives (GOP, MAGA) in America use the Second Amendment as a cover for their white supremacist objectives. Staying armed is not, as they claim, for hobbies like hunting or for self-defense against hypothetical enemies.
The purpose of preserving and defending the Second Amendment is to maintain a sub-surface underground violent racist criminal white trash gangs on alert and mobilized, with the objective of preventing non-whites and minorities (immigrants, Hispanics, Blacks, Asians, etc...) from accessing power.
Such gangs include the NRA, Proud Boys, KKK, and all the rest of them criminal organizations are now staunchly behind Trump who shares the same objectives with them and who has enabled and normalized them after they've been closeted. Even ICE and CBP, as government agencies, are a cover for white supremacists and racists whose mandate per Trump is to "bleach" the United States and keep it "white".
