Anti-Genodical-Israel activist, the Palestinian-American Mahmoud Khalil, returned to Columbia University on Sunday to lead another protest just days after The Trump Administration and its ICE Gestapo were forced to release him from an immigration detention facility on a judge’s orders. His release is evidence that the judiciary in the US has not given up on its fight against the dictator Trump and is willing to stand up and force the rabid fascists of MAGA and ICE to refrain from violating the basic laws of this country.
Khalil was honored in New York City as a free speech hero who defeated the Trump administration's attempts to silence any and all speech favoring a Palestine free from colonialism, occupation and fascist Zionist Apartheid in Israel.
"Well, who is Mahmoud Khalil?" Khlalil said. "That's what the administration has tried its best to portray me as someone who's violent. Mahmoud Khalil is a human rights defender. Mahmoud Khalil is a freedom fighter. Mahmoud Khalil is a refugee. Mahmoud Khalil is a father and husband. And above all, Mahmoud Khalil is Palestinian."
He called this latest protest the beginning of a "longer fight towards justice."
Mahmoud Khalil addressed a large crowd celebrating his release.
"The wave of repression that the Trump administration initiated with my detention was intended to silence the movement for Palestinian liberation," Khalil said. "It was intended to scare people into silence. It was intended to distract us from the fact that the U.S. government is a killing machine in Palestine and across the world. But they completely failed. Millions of people spoke up even louder, that it is our responsibility to end this genocide, no matter the personal cost, no matter the personal cost. And that's exactly what I will continue trying to do as long, so long as I'm able, so long as I am breathing."
Additional footage across social media showed him holding a Palestinian flag and leading a chant of "Columbia, Columbia, you can’t hide. You’re supporting genocide."

Khalil was arrested in March at Columbia over his pro-Palestine activism (always falsely portrayed as anti-Jewish antisemitism and pro-Hamas by the charlatan Trump-lackey Fox News channel) on campus, and an immigration judge ruled he could be removed from the country based on a memo from Secretary of State Marco Rubio that said his campus protests were at odds with U.S. foreign policy interests. Since when has opposition to US government policy become a license to repress speech and silence any SPOKEN dissent?

Judge Farbiarz ordered on Friday that Khalil be
released on bail from an immigration detention center in Jena, Louisiana
after determining that Khalil is not a flight risk.
Rubio cited a provision of the Immigration and Nationality Act to justify his finding, and U.S. District Judge Farbiarz later enjoined the secretary from using that determination to deport Khalil.
In reaction to his release, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) made up another false reason for keeping Khalil detained and attempted to deport him. The DHS said Khalil allegedly omitted key information from his green card application about groups with which he was affiliated, including the Columbia University Apartheid Divest which is not an illegal or banned organization, membership in which has never been a crime.
Hundreds of campus organizations like Columbia University Apartheid Divest across the country with tens of thousands of student activists had operated in the 1980s and 1990s against Apartheid South Africa without ever suffering Khalil's fate. As the US government persisted in defending the White Nazi regime against the rightful demands of the Black indigenous African majority, those organizations forced their universities to divest their investments from the white supremacist South African Apartheid regime, and ultimately succeeded in liberating Nelson Mandela from 27 years of imprisonment and the liberation of the indigenous Black Africans from white Nazi supremacist bondage.
But in their desperation at seeing their 100-year old "Zionist" construct of stealing Palestine from its rightful indigenous owners, Zionists keep trying to make an exception of Israel-Palestine, whereby they ask rational people to suspend and waive, only in Israel's case, the universality of human rights and international law and accept that all the human rights laws, norms, and conventions be ignored.
Criminal Zionists are asking you to accept that those same laws, norms and conventions that prevailed and succeeded in toppling the Apartheid regime SHOULD NOT APPLY TO the Zionist clone of Apartheid South Africa: Jewish supremacist, Zionist, Fascist Colonial Apartheid Israel that is now committing the most egregious genocide in human history against the colonized indigenous people of Palestine.
In our post-colonial world in which ALL formerly colonized nations and peoples in Asia, Africa, America have recovered their freedom, only Israel remains the last Western colony forcibly implanted in indigenous Arab lands that do not belong to it. More to the point, Israel is the only colonial rapist in human history to demand protection and claim self-defense against the very people it rapes, colonizes and exterminates.
