Trump supporters issue violent threats to judge, jurors, district attorney after his conviction
Is this the America we grew up in? Is this the America we want? An America like Russia, North Korea and China where dissidents and journalists are murdered, sent to prison or exiled?
The verdicts returned last week by the best justice system in the world against the imbecile criminal Donald Trump spurred a wave
of violent threats against the prosecutors,
the judge and the ordinary jurors who found that the adulterer Trump cheated on his wife with a prostitute, then cheated on his taxes to hide his adultery.
The threats were posted on many of the same websites used by Trump thugs to organize for violence ahead of the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol.
Examples:
“We need to identify each juror. Then make them miserable. Maybe even suicidal,” wrote a coward user (from behind his stupid screen) on the same forum. “1,000,000 men (armed) need to go to washington and hang everyone. That’s the only solution,” wrote another user. “This s--- is out of control.”
Another user wrote on Trump’s Truth Social platform, “May God strike them dead. We will on November 5th and they will pay!”
“War,” read a Telegram post from the Proud Boys, the terrorist far-right group whose leaders were convicted for sedition. “Now you understand. To save your nation, you must fight. The time to respond is now. Franco Friday has begun,” another Proud Boys chapter wrote, apparently referring to fascist dictator Francisco Franco of Spain.
Trump and his goons want a civil war to destroy the US as we know it. He has rallied the NRA and its satellite white supremacist terror organizations that are armed to the teeth and ready to overturn the America that was founded on the grandest of principles some 250 years ago.
“We are continuing to see a dangerous erosion of democratic norms,” Daniel J. Jones, president of Advance Democracy, said in a statement to NBC News. “Trump and his allies have been spreading disinformation about the trial, challenging Justice Merchan’s impartiality, and describing the entire process as ‘rigged’ for weeks. As such, it’s not a surprise that some of his most fervent supporters are now calling for doxxing and violence against jurors, the judge, and the district attorney.”
