France, the United Kingdom, Canada and Malta announced plans this week to recognize a Palestinian state that the foreign occupying colonial Israel has prevented from existing for 80 years.
Nearly 150 of the 193 members of the United Nations have already recognized Palestinian statehood, most of them decades ago. The United States and other Western powers have held off, saying Palestinian statehood should be part of a final agreement between Israel and the Palestinians. But such an agreement has always been scuttled by successive Israeli governments, precisely because negotiations cannot be fair be fair and lead to a just and equitable settlement when one party, Israel, dominates, occupies, brutalizes and steals land from the other party, the destitute Palestinians, most of whom are refugees from the successive wars of ethnic cleansing that Israel has waged against the indigenous population since the 1930s and 1940s?
By recognizing a Palestinian state, the whole world is granting the victim Palestine a standing of equal with its Israeli rapist in the hope that this might inject fairness in the negotiations. But it is unlikely that a colonial rapist like Israel would concede to Palestinian statehood, with or without negotiations. As a foreign colonial entity from Europe, Israel is expansionist by its very nature, which is why it has no constitution, and therefore has no stated and defined borders, and is a "state" and not a "republic". It is more of a Jewish theocracy disguised under a veneer terminology of modernity, westernism, democracy and such.
Previous timid attempts at making peace between the rapist and its victim have been led by Democrat US presidents - Kimmy Carter and Bill Cinton - but have failed because Israel violated every term of these agreements by continuing to steal land, dehumanize and brutalize the Palestinians and deny them every bit of rights to their own native land.
While a two-state solution in which a state of Palestine would be created alongside Israel in most or all of the West Bank, Gaza Strip and east Jerusalem remains the most plausible way to resolve the conflict, both the Zionists of Israel and their American poodles on a leash do not agree.
The conundrum is that the US and Israel reject the two-state solution but have never offered an alternative to it.
Would the Jewish supremacists of Israel agree to one-state in which both Palestinians and Jews share power and live as equals? Highly unlikely because of the Jewish supremacist DNA in the Israeli population and power structure.
Do the Israelis wish to preserve the status quo of 5 million foreign fanatic Jewish settlers occupying and brutalizing the 5 million indigenous Palestinians, in the hope that the Palestinians would slowly die, emigrate, and somehow vanish out of existence? Perhaps, but decades of this approach (in which Israel hoped no one would notice the slow grinding ethnic cleansing) has become very costly with periodic wars and instability, and an increased international understanding and rejection of the brutality of the Zionist colonial occupation in Palestine. The Israeli Jews also did not expect the stiff resistance of the indigenous Palestinian population.
The third option that Israel is logically contemplating can only be inferred from its silence on possible alternative solutions to its conflict with the Palestinians. Furthermore, successive Israeli governments have not shied away from declaring their ambition to confiscate and annex all the land of the territory of historic Palestine. Stating repeatedly that Israel is a "Democracy for Jews only", Israel implies that its long term objective is an Israel without the 5 million indigenous Palestinians. Which in turn implies a massive campaign of genocide and ethnic cleansing in which all the Palestinians would be killed or expelled. This is now happening before our eyes, and the world has finally had the courage to recognize it. Hence, the decision to recognize an independent and sovereign State of Palestine free from foreign western occupation.
Just as in the 1948 ethnic cleansing and genocide in which Israel kept some 20% of the indigenous Palestinians within its borders (to serve as lower class menial workers in the service of their Jewish masters), it is possible that Israel will get rid of 4 million Palestinians and keep a million as second class indentured citizens. A discriminated and chronically repressed minority of 20% can hardly mount a resistance or even a serious opposition to the Jewish ruling class.
