The moron MAGA-Republican governor of Florida, (Mo)Ron DeSantis, has suspended a MAGA republican ally - Michael Caruso - from his role as Palm Beach County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller because Caruso was arrested on child sex abuse charges.
Michael Caruso, 67, has been charged with kidnapping; lewd or lascivious molestation; lewd or lascivious exhibition; luring or enticing a child; and child abuse (mental injury). The news comes a year after DeSantis appointed Caruso — who served in the Florida House of Representatives for seven years — to his clerk role in August 2025. Caruso had also just filed paperwork in February to run for reelection this November.
MAGA republicans like DeSantis and Caruso pretend to be devout Christians, Catholic-turned-Evangelicals to be specific, and are behind Donald Trump's scandalous, racist and disastrous policies. As time and events have shown, not a day goes by without one of those white extremist Right-Wing American bigots (who claim to uphold "family values" and accuse Democrats, migrants and immigrants of all sorts of filthy crimes) being caught abusing children, committing adultery, serially divorcing spouses they cheated on, betraying their country, committing financial crimes, attacking the poor and the vulnerable, and conducting themselves in ways unbecoming of a true Christian. Donald Dumb, the Great Evangelical Moron, has been showing them to way to corruption, pedophilia, treason and any other filth you can think of.
In October 2025, the father of the 5-year-old child (the victim of the US-born American White MAGA republican Caruso) saw the child engage in inappropriate behavior with his brother by placing his genitalia on his brother's face. When the father talked to the child, the latter told him that Caruso had orally assaulted him and also showered with him during a cruise in August 2025. The father reported the incident to the police.
The police learned of at least two other instances in which Caruso is accused of sexually abusing the child in 2024 by exposing himself and inappropriately touching the child's genitals, the document also stated.
The attorney for the child, Lisa Haba, called Caruso's arrest Tuesday "a decisive line in the sand." "When someone targets a child, they don't just break the law — they shatter a community's trust," Haba said in a statement. "We intend to make sure this survivor's voice is heard through every step of this process."
Separately, Haba also condemned DeSantis's office for releasing identifying information about the child, which may be seen as a De Santis's effort to intimidate the family of the victim by breaching their right to privacy.
"Child sex abuse victims should never have identifying details about them released, and it is abhorrent that the child victim in connection with the arrest of Michael Caruso has been subjected to this breach. This is a clear violation of Marsy's Law and has shattered the child's privacy," Haba said in a statement.
"I call on all media outlets to immediately redact identifying details of this child victim in connection with this case. I urge all government officials to redact identifying details of this child in official documents and commit to strengthen their policies to protect child victims in the future," she continued.
In his executive order, DeSantis finally decreed that Caruso was "hereby prohibited from performing any official act, duty, or function of public office; from receiving any pay or allowance; and from being entitled to any of the emoluments or privileges of public office during the period of this suspension, which period shall be from the effective date hereof until a further executive order is issued, or as otherwise provided by law."
"If he's convicted, he is going to be in for a world of hurt," DeSantis said, lauding the state of Florida for bringing back the death penalty for crimes involving pedophilia. DeSantis claimed he was previously unaware of Caruso's sexual deviancy when he appointed him last year, which is not true because Caruso has faced at least one previous allegation of sexually abusing a child. In divorce proceedings in 2013, he said his now-ex-wife, Beverly Caruso, brought a child sex abuse charge against him.
DeSantis and Caruso were elected the same year. Despite suspicions around Caruso's sexual deviancy, DeSantis referred to him as a "legend" for voting in alignment with him. Caruso's current wife, Tracy Stein Caruso, is also a DeSantis appointee. She is a board member of the Health Care District of Palm Beach County and county chair of the Housing and Finance Authority.
According to The Miami Herald, Michael Caruso was also a Little League baseball coach for 30 years and a Boy Scouts volunteer for eight years, which placed him in close [proximity to potential child victims. As this republican beast has now been exposed for what he is, additional child sex abuse accusations are likely to emerge.
