The olive harvest is underway in the Levant: Syria, Lebanon and Palestine. The people of the region, just like all their neighbors from around the Mediterranean, have been celebrating the olive harvest as a annual ritual for thousands of years.
Indeed, the name "Galilee" (الجليل) comes from the Canaanite term Jalil - which has been retained in Arabic - which means "the harvest". Derivatives of the word can be found, for example, in the Lebanese-Phoenician word "Jall" (جلّ) for a terraced plot of land. To butress the point that the Hebrews had no connection to the land they violently conquered, some philologists say that Galilee means 'Country of the Gentiles', which implies that the Hebrews saw themselves as foreign to the land of the indigenous Palestinian Canaanites.
The Canaanites, from whom descend modern-day Lebanese (Phoenicians), Syrians (Arameans) and Palestinians (Philistines), have been in the Levant for thousands of years, harvesting olives and making olive oil from the beginnings of urbanized civilization, long before the Hebrew terrorist invaders arrived.
But the foreign Hebrews (Israelites) did arrive from the desert and illegally crossed the Jordan River to enter Canaanite Palestine, apparently because their fuck - - - Yahweh god told them - so they conveniently write in their garbage torah - to simply steal Palestine from its Canaanite owners by massacring every man, woman, child and beast (see below the passage from the torah). The Hebrew tribes, nasty desert nomads who lived off goats and camels and lived in stinking tents, didn't know how to grow a radish or build a solid house, let alone know anything about olive trees. That was Nakba 1.0 for the Palestinians, and now some 3,000 years later, some Eastern European jerks who converted to judaism some hundreds of years ago claim to be the descendants of the Hebrews and have laid claim - again - to the same land of Palestine on the sole basis of religion. What you are witnessing today in the Jewish colony in Palestine known as "Israel", namely the ongoing genocide and ethnic cleansing of the same indigenous Palestinians by the fake descendants of the Hebrews, is Nakba 2.0.
What these modern Jewish converts, the fake descendants of the biblical Hebrews, have done to Palestine would be the equivalent of, say, Indonesians who became Muslim some time around the 11-12th centuries, come forward now and claim to own Mecca in Saudi Arabia, because somehow their conversion to the religion of Islam grants them real estate rights in Saudi Arabia.
In fact, when the savage primitive Hebrew bedouins slaughtered the civilized urban Canaanite Palestinians, their kings Dawood and Suleiman had to beg Phoenician King Hiram of Tyre, the New York City of its time, to build them palaces and a house for the ark of the convenant because they had no idea how to build anything solid. Hiram sent cedar wood logs from the cedars of Mount Lebanon and skilled Phoenician masons to Hiram who built houses first for Dawood, then for Suleiman. They also built the Hebrew Temple in Jerusalem as an identical copy to the temple the Tyrians had built in Tyre for Melqart their god (Melqart is a portmanteau word derived from blending Melek = King and Qart = City, which translates into "King of the City"). The name of the Phoenician city of Carthage is itself a portmanteau word from Qart = City and Hadash = New, which translates into "New City" since the Tyrians had colonized Carthage in current day Tunisia.
In this long history, the Palestinians have been victimized twice: First by the primitive Hebrew nomads circa 1000 BC, then again in the 20th century AD by Eastern European settlers who claim to be descendants of the Hebrews. Of course, there were many other invaders and conquerors of Palestine, like the Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Crusaders, Mamlukes, Ottoman Turks, and the English crooks who sold Palestine to said Eastern European settlers. They all came but they all eventually left. And the Zionists should not think they are an exception.
Of note are the Western European Crusaders (Catholics) who came claiming the land as theirs a thousand years ago, and like the Zionists they created settlements and stayed. But only for a while: The Crusaders lasted at most 300 years, and besides the ruins of their fortresses, nothing is left of them in the Levant. And so it will be one day with the Eastern European Zionists.
The culture of olives is a millennial tradition of all nations around the Mediterranean going all the way back to their first civilizations that emerged in the Levant andd Mesopotamia. The Eastern Euroepan Zionist settlers of Palestine do not have any connection to the olive tree that all Mediterraneans have. As their first mission in their genocide and ethnic cleansing of Palestine, their first target is the olive orchards because they represent the millennial connection of the Palestinians to their land. Zionist settlers deliberately uproot, burn, plunder and destroy the olive orchards of the indigenous Palestinians with the aim of severing this bond between the people and their land. God Commands Joshua to Conquer Canaan
1 After the death of the Lord's servant Moses, the Lord spoke to Moses' helper, Joshua son of Nun. 2 He said, “My servant Moses is dead. Get ready now, you and all the people of Israel, and cross the Jordan River into the land that I am giving them. 3 As I told Moses, I have given you and all my people the entire land that you will be marching over. 4 Your borders will reach from the desert in the south to the Lebanon Mountains in the north; from the great Euphrates River in the east, through the Hittite country, to the Mediterranean Sea in the west.
10 Then Joshua ordered the leaders to 11 go through the camp and say to the people, “Get some food ready, because in three days you are going to cross the Jordan River to occupy the land that the Lord your God is giving you.”
14 Your wives, your children, and your livestock will stay here, but your soldiers, armed for battle, will cross over ahead of the other Israelites in order to help them 15 until they have occupied the land west of the Jordan that the Lord your God has given them.
Then Joshua sent two spies to go and secretly explore the land of Canaan, especially the city of Jericho. When they came to the city, they went to spend the night in the house of a prostitute named Rahab. 2
8 Before the spies settled down for the night, Rahab went up on the roof 9 and said to them, “I know that the Lord has given you this land. Everyone in the country is terrified of you. 10 We have heard how the Lord dried up the Red Sea in front of you when you were leaving Egypt. We have also heard how you killed Sihon and Og, the two Amorite kings east of the Jordan. 11 We were afraid as soon as we heard about it; we have all lost our courage because of you. The Lord your God is God in heaven above and here on earth. 12 Now swear by him that you will treat my family as kindly as I have treated you, and give me some sign that I can trust you. 13 Promise me that you will save my father and mother, my brothers and sisters, and all their families! Don't let us be killed!”
Josuah 6:21 - "And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city [Jericho] both man and woman, young and old, ox and sheep and donkey, with the edge of the sword."
Jericho in Arabic is أريحا (pronounced Arīḥā). The name means "fragrant" and has its roots in the Canaanite word for the same meaning. Which proves that Palestine did not belong to the violent Hebrew conquerors who took it by massacring its population.
Joshua 6:21 is a verse that captures a significant moment. It represents the culmination of the conquest of Jericho, a city that fell victim to the invading Israelites in their pursuit of their fallacious self-serving Promised Land fiction. When we read this verse, we must understand that the Israelites had been wandering the desert for forty years, living their primitive lives without any semblance of civilization. Those of us who use reason (instead of barbaric religious beliefs) understand that no friggin' god gave anyone the land of Palestine. As the victorious victors, the primitive Hebrews wrote their own self-serving version of history in their torah sack of manure, and of course claimed that some god gave them the land that belonged to another people, the Canaanite Palestinians, who had never done anything to hurt the Hebrews. But what else would you expect of savage nomadic tribes from the desert who discover civilization and proceed to destroy it?
That is exactly what religious fundamentalists always do: the Christians who took power in Rome proceeded to destroy all "pagan" temples or convert them to churches, and to kill those "pagans" who refused to convert. The Muslim Taliban of Afghanistan did exactly that when they took power in Afghanistan. Similarly, the Hebrews destroyed every facet of the civilized urban Palestinian Canaanites by declaring them to be pagan enemies who believed in many gods (Baal, Ishtar, Adonis...).

Israeli settlers beat Palestinian farmers on video as attacks mount during West Bank olive harvest

RAMALLAH, West Bank (AP) — Israeli settlers descended on Palestinian olive harvesters and activists this week in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, beating them with clubs in an attack Palestinian health officials said sent at least one woman to the hospital with serious injuries.
The attack Sunday in the town of Turmus Ayya, which was captured in videos obtained by The Associated Press, came as Palestinians say settler violence in the region is worsening. The United Nations and rights groups have raised the alarm as harvest season begins and Palestinian farmers are at growing risk while gathering olives.
“Settler violence has skyrocketed in scale and frequency," Ajith Sunghay, the head of the U.N. Human Rights Office in the Palestinian territory, said in a statement released Tuesday. “Two weeks into the start of the 2025 harvest, we have already seen severe attacks by armed settlers against Palestinian men, women, children and foreign solidarity activists."
In one of the videos obtained by the AP, a masked man was seen running through an olive grove and beating at least two people with a club, including a woman as she lay motionless on the ground. The masked man appeared to be wearing tzitzit, a ritual fringed garment for Jews.
The woman was hospitalized with serious injures, the Ramallah-based Palestinian Health Ministry said.
In a separate video, more than a dozen masked men were seen running down a village road alongside an olive grove, pursuing a car. One settler clubbed the car and opened the door. A passenger managed to escape and run away with the group of men running after him.
A third video showed flames and smoke rising from several torched cars.
Israel’s Channel 12 reported that the head of the West Bank police force said in an internal police WhatsApp group that the footage of the masked settler beating the woman “kept him up at night” and instructed officers to bring the settler to justice.
Israel's military and police did not respond to an AP request for comment on the attack.
Turmus Ayya, whose population is predominantly Palestinian American, has long been a target of settler attacks, but villagers say the violence worsened during the Israel-Hamas war. It's nestled in a valley surrounded by hilltops crowned with Israeli settlements and outposts. Since the killing of a 14-year old Palestinian-American, Amer Rabee, by Israeli forces in the town in April protests against settler violence and the military's perceived failure to curb it have provoked regular clashes with settlers.
More broadly, s ettler violence is surging across the West Bank. The U.N. says the first half of 2025 has seen 757 settler attacks causing casualties or property damage — a 13% increase compared with the same period last year.
The first week of olive harvest season has seen more than 150 settler attacks and over 700 olive trees uprooted, broken or poisoned, according to Muayyad Shaaban, who heads an office in the Palestinian Authority that is tracking the violence.
Israel captured the West Bank, along with east Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip, in the 1967 Mideast war. The Palestinians seek those territories for a future independent state. Settler advocates hold key Israeli Cabinet positions that grant them and the settlers an important say over the West Bank.
