Trump Begins Recanting Campaign Promises Before Even Taking Office
Trans People No Longer a Problem for Campaign Liar Trump
In a stunning change of tune, President-elect Donald Trump said in an interview that the transgender bathroom debate isn’t that important and doesn’t affect many people anyway – despite his campaign and other GOP groups pouring tens of millions of dollars into political ads attacking transgender people.
“I don’t want to get into the bathroom issue, because it’s a very small number of people we’re talking about.”
“We’re talking about a very small number of people, and we’re talking about it, and it gets massive coverage, and it’s not a lot of people,” Trump said.
Trump’s latest comments are in sharp contrast to the way that he and his party relentlessly attacked transgender people on the campaign trail, stoking fears about trans people in sports, in bathrooms and in pursuit of gender-affirming care.
By the end of the campaign season, the GOP had spent nearly $215 million on television ads fanning fear and hatred of trans people, according to AdImpact data cited by a Washington Post reporter.
One of Trump’s most memorable campaign ads attacked Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris for supporting trans rights. “Kamala is for they/them. President Trump is for you,” said the 30-second ad.
Trump reportedly aired this ad more than 30,000 times in every swing state and spent more money on it than on all the other ads in his campaign combined.
In his Time interview, Trump was also asked about Republican attacks on transgender Rep.-elect Sarah McBride (D-Del.). McBride isn’t even in Congress yet and has already become the target of transphobic attacks by Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.), who introduced a bill aimed at barring McBride from using women’s bathrooms in the House.
McBride has responded to Mace’s attacks by saying there are more important issues to focus on in Congress than bathrooms. When Trump was asked if he agrees with incoming House Democrat McBride, he emphatically said yes. “I do agree with that. On that—absolutely,” said the president-elect. “As I was saying, it’s a small number of people.”
Even Before Inauguration, Trump is Already Downplaying Campaign Promises
The Liar-in-Chief who fooled his ignorant base and then some additional idiots with his Don Quixote promises is already preparing them for disappointment.
For example, not one month ago he promised to lower prices. Now, he says it would be "too hard" to do so. Deporting 20 million foreign criminals and rapists will have to be cut down to a few thousands, way less in fact than the number of deportations that Joe Biden actually implemented.
When TIME magazine (which recently named him “Poison of the Year”) asked the Supreme Moron if his presidency would fail if he's unable to bring down grocery prices as promised, the inveterate liar said, “It’s hard to bring things down once they’re up.” He added, “You know, it’s very hard.”
Compare that with his campaign promises to his ignorant herd that "incomes and net worths would soar and skyrocket, and energy costs and grocery prices would come tumbling down".
Both top campaign issues for the asinine candidate, namely the economy and immigration, are now being served to his riff raff herd with much lower expectations. He has not even been inaugurated yet.
As the master ignoramus on economics, Trump's tariffs - besides the fact that they will have be toned way down - will only drive up costs for the American consumer. During an interview with Kristen Welker on NBC's “Meet the Press,” Trump said he couldn’t “guarantee” that Americans wouldn’t pay more for goods and described tariffs as “beautiful,” adding, “It’s going to make us rich.” It is quite obvious that Trump’s stance on tariffs shows he doesn’t understand how tariffs work, and that he will be propelling the country into a much worse recession than the one we experienced under Biden.
Canada is already preparing a slew of retaliatory measures: Cut off electric power from most northern US states and impose its own tariffs on US goods. Canada is also the largest foreign supplier of steel, aluminum and uranium to the U.S. and has 34 critical minerals and metals that the Pentagon is investing in for national security. Charlie Angus of the Canadian Parliament said in an interview about Trump, "...this kind of dismissive, idiotic behavior? I mean, he’s a juvenile." Ontario, Canada’s most populous province and home to the Liquor Control Board of Ontario, could restrict LCBO from buying U.S.-made alcohol and also restrict electricity exports if Trump imposes sweeping tariffs.
Another of Trump’s proposed policies is to extend his tax cut for billionaires like himself while imposing massive tariffs against our trade partners and allies, which in turn will raise costs to the middle class.
To the idiots who voted for him: Welcome to the hell you have yourselves created. You were warned, but did not listen to the experts; you preferred to listen to the populist liar, convicted criminal, moron, and adulterer fake Christian.
