Stefanik is behind Hochul in New York governor’s race. Obviously, New Yorkers don't want a racist neo-Nazi as their governor.
Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) is running for governor in New York, biut is consistently trailing incumbent Gov. Kathy Hochul (D), an early sign that the race would trash Stefanik, asssuming she wins the GOP primary, which is not a certainty yet.
A survey of 500 likely New York voters by J.L. Partners, an independent market research firm, found that Hochul leads Stefanik 46 percent to 43 percent in a hypothetical match-up, with 11 percent undecided.
The poll, conducted Nov. 9-10, found that 40 percent of likely New York voters strongly or somewhat approve of Hochul’s job performance, while 54 percent somewhat or strongly disapprove.
It found that 37 percent of voters view Stefanik very or somewhat favorably, while 32 percent view her somewhat or very unfavorably.
The survey had a margin of error of 4.4 percent.
Stefanik, a strong supporter of President Trump, announced her gubernatorial campaign last week. She was elected to Congress in 2014 to represent New York’s 21st Congressional District and served as House GOP conference chair from 2021-25.
Trump nominated her to serve as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations in January, but the nomination was later withdrawn amid concerns about her qualifications.
