He began his post by prefacing, "I don't really do endorsements. I'm not shy about sharing my views, but I hate politics and don't trust most politicians.
However, he noted, "I also understand that people want to hear from me because I am not just a celebrity, I am a former Republican Governor."
Schwarzenegger, now 77, served as Governor of California from 2003 to 2011, an experience he now says taught him to "love policy and ignore politics."
Schwarzenegger called out Trump's rejection of the 2020 election results "as un-American as it gets."
"To someone like me who talks to people all over the world and still knows America is the shining city on a hill, calling America [a] trash can for the world is so unpatriotic, it makes me furious," the Austria native said.
He added, "And I will always be an American before I am a Republican."
"That's why, this week, I am voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz," Schwarzenegger declared while urging his followers, "We need to close the door on this chapter of American history, and I know that former President Trump won’t do that. He will divide, he will insult, he will find new ways to be more un-American than he already has been, and we, the people, will get nothing but more anger."
"Vote this week. Turn the page and put this junk behind us," the Total Recall star concluded, before encouraging all of his followers—even those who disagree with him—to cast their vote on Nov. 5.

Barbara Pierce Bush (George W. Bush's Daughter)
In a statement made on Tuesday, Oct. 29, Barbara revealed that she spent part of the weekend in Pennsylvania campaigning for Vice President Kamala Harris in the race for the White House.
"It was inspiring to join friends and meet voters with the Harris-Walz campaign in Pennsylvania this weekend," the 42-year-old activist told the publication this week. "I'm hopeful they'll move our country forward and protect women's rights."
Despite having a Republican father, who served as president from 2001 to 2009, Barbara previously insisted in 2010 that she does not identify with either major political party.
Barbara, a mother of two, has also been outspoken in advocating for abortion rights and women's health care, speaking at a Planned Parenthood fundraiser back in 2017.
Though her parents, George and Laura Bush, have not endorsed either candidate in the 2024 presidential election, George Bush's vice-president, once known as the Dark Lord of Neo-Conservative republicans, Dick Cheney shocked America by endorsing Kamala Harris. His daughter, Liz Cheney, former Wyoming Rep. and member of the Republican party, also endorsed Harris and has been campaigning with her.
Following Barbara's declaration of support for the Harris-Walz campaign, Liz Cheney praised her brave statement of support for the Democratic presidential nominee, despite both of their familial ties to the Republican party.
"Thank you, Barbara Bush, for standing for truth, decency, and freedom," Liz wrote in a post Tuesday morning.
