In Her Own Graceful Words: Selwa Carmen Showker "Lucky" Roosevelt

Anti-Arab racism has long existed in the US for reasons no one has to guess anymore. As Donald Dumb exercises his role as the serf of the Zionist lobby and is deporting-persecuting-harassing anyone or any institution with a hint of fairness and objectivity on the question of Palestine, here's a tiny window on the matter.

Selwa Carmen Showker "Lucky" Roosevelt was the child of Lebanese immigrants who grew up in Tennessee. She became the Chief of Protocol of the United States under the very Republican Ronald Reagan, serving longer (1982-1989) than any other person in that position.  Read about her in: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selwa_Roosevelt

Below is a letter she penned to the New York Times Book Review after reading Joanne Kaufmann's review of Ms. Roosevelt's autobiography entitled, "Keeper of the Gate". You be the judge of the deeply engrained anti-Arab racism in American culture, which makes the US the only country on earth these days to unconditionally back the genocide in Gaza. Ms. Roosevelt's arguments still apply today after nearly 40 years.
