Have you ever wondered why there is such animosity between the US and Iran? It all began in 1953 when the duly and democratically elected prime minister Mohammad Mosadegh was toppled by the American CIA on behalf of their English crook allies.
The colonial English crooks had monopoly over Iranian oil through its Anglo-Persian Oil Company, and Mosadegh wanted, just like all formerly colonized countries, to nationalize his country's own resources. Nasser in Egypt also nationalized the Suez Canal and an English-French-Israeli coalition waged war on him to topple him but failed.
In Iran, Mosadegh was toppled and a dummy Shah (emperor) was installed who complied with all demands by the Americans and the British.
Dr. Salvador Allende was duly and democratically elected President of Chile in October 1970. On December 21, Allende proposed an amendment to the Chilean constitution that would authorize the nationalization of the country's mines to the displeasure of American- and British-owned mining companies, and the amendment went into effect on July 16, 1971. The corporations who owned the mines objected as did the US government, and the CIA plotted and killed Allende in a coup that brought General Pinochet to power, a bloodthirsty dictator whose brutal rule would last until 1988 when a popular referendum required him to step down. Democracy returned to Chile.
Do you not see a pattern of the US toppling democratically elected governments to maintain access and ownership of other nations' natural resources? Isn't that imperialism?
Is the US preparing something sinister in Mexico?

The State Department said it was aware of reports of the man's arrest, and that it has no higher priority than the safety and security of U.S. citizens abroad.
'When a U.S. citizen is detained abroad, the department works to provide consular assistance," the spokesperson said.
Mexican authorities have not disclosed any additional details about the man's arrest or why he was in the country.
