How can Usha adjust to a shallow, superficial, consumer-driven dull culture, when she was raised in an ancient millennial culture full of substance and depth?
How can she continue with an Appalachian hillbilly (who was recruited as a DEI student by Yale) who wants her to convert to the Christian religion?
I predict a divorce within the next 4 years.

Rumors of trouble in the Vances’ marriage have swirled since the fall, thanks to Usha's ringless appearance and JD's viral hug with Erika Kirk
Usha Vance opened up about her relationship with Vice President JD Vance in a rare interview after her public appearances without a wedding ring stoked marriage rumors.
The second lady — who is very private and rarely speaks with the press — reacted to the public’s interest in her relationship with the vice president, 41, in a new interview with USA Today, which was conducted on Dec. 8 and published on Dec. 13. She also discussed her religious upbringing, the couple’s three young kids and more.
Reflecting on her life before Vance’s political career thrust her into the spotlight, the former litigator, 39, told the outlet, “There are things that I miss and things that I'm excited to have moved on from.”
Usha, who has been married to JD for more than a decade, also gave a rare comment on public speculation about the state of their marriage. (Interest in the couple burgeoned in November after she made a public appearance without her wedding ring.)
“I find that one of the really curious things about this life is that people really like to read the tea leaves, and there's a kind of an industry building stories about everything that they can imagine," Usha told USA Today.
The second couple does “find it kind of funny” that their marriage is a hot topic at the moment, Usha said, though she does not “find it fruitful” to keep up with the rumor mill. At the end of the day, it's “a family joke” more than anything, she said of the interest in her and JD’s personal life.
“I'd rather just sort of live in my marriage and in the real world and less in kind of the fever dreams that surround it,” she told USA Today. “So I mean, it is kind of a family joke, but also not something that I spend very much time thinking about.”
The second lady also echoed the sentiment a representative expressed on her behalf following her ringless appearance. At the time, a spokesperson told PEOPLE that Usha is “a mother of three young children, who does a lot of dishes, gives lots of baths, and forgets her ring sometimes.”
Discussing her wedding ring with USA Today, Usha said, “I wear it when I wear it, and I don't when I don't.” (The outlet noted that she made the comment matter-of-factly.)
“Sometimes I'm wearing it,” she added, “and sometimes I've just been to the gym and showered and I'm not wearing it.”
Rumors of trouble in the Vances’ marriage were first sparked by the ringless visit Usha made to Camp Lejeune, a military training facility in Jacksonville, N.C., alongside first lady Melania Trump on Nov. 19. The vice president’s viral embrace with Erika Kirk at a Turning Point USA event in late October provided further fuel, as did comments JD made about his wife’s religion at the same event.
At the Oct. 29 event, the vice president said he hopes his wife — who was raised as and identifies as Hindu — will someday convert to Catholicism as he did in his 30s.
Discussing her upbringing with USA Today, Usha said that growing up in southern California, she had friends with diverse religious backgrounds. Her exact words, according to the outlet, were: “Everything you could possibly name.”
The couple, who met at Yale Law School, have decided to raise their three children — sons Ewan, 8, and Vivek, 5, and daughter Mirabel, 3 — Christian, JD previously said.
The Vances will spend Christmas with Usha’s family this year, she told USA Today.
Usha previously held roles as a litigator and a law clerk for the Supreme Court. Shortly after JD's vice presidential nomination was announced, her profile was removed from the website of her then-employer, law firm Munger, Tolles & Olson.
In a statement to PEOPLE at the time, the firm said, "Usha has been an excellent lawyer and colleague, and we thank her for her years of work and wish her the best in her future career.”
