Trump's Gaza-Israel Plan is a Trap: Once Hostages Released, War will resume

The much hyped Trump 21-point plan for ending the genocide in Gaza is yet just another ceasefire without a peace plan to ensure a permanent resolution of all pending questions in the conflict.

Trump's marketing campaign to present himself as a peacemaker is, like nearly everything the Jackass-in-Chief does, a PR stunt. He doesn't give a hoot about hostages, prisoners, starving refugees and future peace. He only cares that he's done te bare minimum to earn the Nobel Peace Prize, and the Nobel Committee is no fool to fall in the trap. A Peace Prize is deserved if, and only if, Trump manages to curb the expansionist colonial Zionist agenda of stealing land and displacing indigenous people, and to shepherding the creation of fully independent and sovereign Israeli and Palestinian states with well-defined and constitution-enshrined borders. Just like its colonial and genocidal Great Britain midwife, Israel has no constitution which clearly states the country's borders, which leaves open the possibilities of acquiring land from other nations. Britain on account of its genocide in Ireland and Israel on account of its genocide in Palestine.

The Gaza ceasefire will resolve "immediate" triggers to the genocide, but leaves the fundamentals of the Palestine conflict untouched. Palestinian statehood, status of Jerusalem, future of the millions of Palestinian refugees ethnically cleansed in the wars of 1948, 1967 and 1973 and the blockade of Gaza to date, defined borders for both Israel and Palestine, etc.

Unless Donald Trump clearly and publicly, with a written commitment - declares that it is US policy to recognize a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, then all the optimism of the past 48 hours is doomed to failure.

We've seen it many times in the past: Israel pretends to want to make peace and signs treaties, but then does everything on the ground to negate the expected outcomes of these agreements. Israel has time and again, since 1948, failed to implement every UN Security Council resolution pertaining to its occupation of Palestinian land. As the maps of Palestine since the 1920s show a shrinking Palestine simulatneous with an expanding Israel, it is time to recognize that Zionism aims at engulfing ALL of Palestine, given time, facts on the ground and the unbending blind support of a Holocaust-guilt afflicted West.

With Benjamin Netanyahu and the ultra-re;ligious terrorists governing Israel at this time, there is no reason to believe there is a mutation in the trajectory of a colonial Israel raping its colonized victim Palestine over the past century.

Trump NEEDs a ceasefire so he can claim to have achieved an end to the genocide in Gaza.

Netanyahu NEEDs a ceasefire so he claim to have returned all the hostages. BUT he has not decimated and annihilated Hamas. The ceasefire will allow him to only claim that he MAY have succeeded in pushing Hamas out of Gaza, although the mere fact that Israel has made an agreement with Hamas is a de facto recognition of Hamas as a partner. Just as Israel did with Yasser Arafat and his secular non-Islamic Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO): For decades between the 1960s and the 1990s, Arafat was a terrorist, the PLO was a terrorist organization that no one should talk to, then Israel made peace with Arafat, recognized the Palestinian Authority and neither Arafat nor the PLO were terrorists any longer. The same is likely to happen now with Israel and Hamas.

The Gaza Palestinians NEED a ceasefire that will allow them to breathe a respite, but they remain very far from a resumption of normal life. Assuming all intentions are good, the time it will take for Gaza to return to normal is in years and decades, which gives ample time for Israel to scheme situations and events that serve as pretexts for the resumption of the slow, less-noticed Zionist colonization and ethnic cleansing of Palestine.

The end goal for the Zionist movement is to completely de-Palestinize Palestine and transform it into a Jewish majority Israel in which those Palestinians who are not killed or expelled can remain as a minority and second class citizens of a Democracy-for-Jews only. Just as the stock market gyrates through ups and downs on a daily basis, but with an upwards trajectory in the long term, so is the prosecution by Israel of its extermination of Palestine and its deletion from the map.

As long as the so-called "moderates" among the Israeli population - essentially Tel Aviv and its surroundings - turn a blind eye to the continued rape of Palestine by their ultra-religious co-citizens, there will not be peace. This is similar to the Muslim "moderates" who for decades funded and supported from behind the scenes their ultra-religious Islamist fanatics and murderers. Jewish "moderates" must make it their priority to counter the ultra-religious Jewish terrorists in charge of Israel today, but unfortunately their mission appears limited to retrieving the hostages and nothing more, although they know that there will never be peace for Israel as long as there is not a clear path for the Palestinians. There is an entire Palestinian expatriate community across the globe, millions of Palestinians in refugee camps in the region, and 5 million Palestinians still living in historic Palestine under Israeli occupation.

The Trump ceasefire ignores all of these facts and is an American fast-food recipe transposed to politics. It may satisfy some hunger but it is unhealthy on the long term. The world has tired of Zionist lies and schemes circumventing the truth and the facts of this long sordid episode of colonial history. If Trump wants a serious chance at a Peace Prize, he must bring his country to join the entire community of nations who have already recognized what it will take. The US must stop its oft-repeated mistake of thinking that violence can solve problems and must take the lead - a genuine one - to confront the extremists of both Israel and Palestine, and use its economic power to force them out of the mainstream and make the moderates the ultimate decision-makers.

In the immediate moment, it is more than likely that Netanyahu and Trump have, at their last meeting in Washignton DC, agreed to pretend to cave in to international pressure. Trump promised Netanyahu that if the latter agrees to a ceasefire, Trump will at some point in the future allow him to resume the war and the ethnic cleansing of Palestine. In exchange, Netanyahu agrees to the ceasefire to give his friend Trump the appearance of making peace. I cannot imagine for one second that Netanyahu has metamorphosed into a peacemaker with the Palestinians: He keeps repeating his rejection of a Palestinian State, and until he tells us what are his plans with/for the Palestinians, there is no reason to be optimistic. As soon as the hostages are released by Hamas, Netanyahu will make up some pretext with which to resume the war in Gaza and the West Bank.

Without justice for the Palestinians and reparation for the rape of Palestine, there is  no hope.
