Ibn Al-Sharmouta Nasrallah Links Cell Phone Evidence in His Assassination of Hariri to the so-called Israeli Spy Network

Ibn Al-Sharmouta w Ibn Al-Kalb Nasrallah - who knows he and his organization will be indicted for his role in the assassination of Rafik Hariri under orders by the Syrian Baath regime - is now linking the evidence that Independent Investigation Commission gathered, including cell phone calls made by Hezbollah operatives to the Moronic Lebanese then-President , Emile Buffoon Lahoud, the absolute Syrian poodle in the Presidential Palace in Baabda, within minutes of the explosion of the bomb killing Hariri, to the recent spate of so-called Lebanese spies for Israel who had infiltrated the cell phone telecommunications network.

This monster is thus preparing the ground to discredit the solid evidence that the UN has garnered against his organization, much in the same way that he was inciting his stupid Shiite villagers in the south against the UNIFIL peacekeeping troops who were brought in to rescue his sorry ass from the Israeli onslaught in 2006.

This dog to Syria and Iran has no other function but to serve his masters, and here is now setting the stage to bring Lebanon into a collision course with the international community.

Nasrallah is trying to do now what he succeeded in doing 25 years ago, when his organization did everything it could - bombings, assassinations, discrediting of the MultiNational Force, hijackings and kidnappings - to drive the West and the international community out of Lebanon so that Syria - which had been evicted by the 1982 Israeli invasion - could come back. And the fucking West - Ronald Reagan of all people - buckled and fled like rabbits, and Lebanon fell into the Syrian Gulag in 1990, until 2005 when the Hariri assassination breathed life back into the Lebanese people and they puished Syria out.  WHEN WILL THE LEBANESE PEOPLE GET RID OF HASSAN NASRALLAH AND PUSH HIS FUCKING TURBAN OUT OF THEIR LIVES? If they don;t Syria and Iran will be back....

-------------------------------------------------------------
BEIRUT: Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah on Friday issued a blanket condemnation of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, calling it an “Israeli project” that aimed to exploit Israel’s penetration of Lebanon’s telecommunications network to manufacture strife.
The Hizbullah leader made his remarks in the wake of three reported arrests of former and current employees at the Alfa mobile phone company, on suspicion of spying for Israel.
Nasrallah suggested that Israel’s infiltration of the telecommunication network would allow manipulating call patterns, among other technical procedures, which discredited the basis of any investigations based on the analysis of mobile phone call records.
“The wager on false witnesses has failed, and the wager today has turned to the telecommunication sector, to build upon to issue an indictment,” Nasrallah said.
Tarek Rabaa, an engineer, has been detained for spying for Israel after being identified as the partner of Charbel Qazzi, a technician at Lebanon’s Alfa mobile service provider.
Qazzi was detained last month by Lebanese authorities on suspicion of providing the Israelis with crucial data. The detainee has confessed to collaborating with Israeli authorities since 1996, reports said.
“Since the false witnesses’ theory did not stand, they went on to fabricate the telecommunications theory to build upon it an indictment … thus the telecommunication world is sacred for those wagering on the STL,” Nasrallah said.
Nasrallah was referring to the case of Zuheir Siddiq, a former witness in the investigation of the 2005 killing of former Premier Rafik Hariri, who later recanted his testimony.
The Hizbullah leader criticized those who have called for playing down the importance of the arrests until the investigations are complete, which he said were aimed at safeguarding the STL’s investigations against suspicions.
“We hear that an indictment will be issued against Hizbullah members,” Nasrallah said, “and those making the claims know of the investigations, and the timing of the indictment, while the investigations with us have barely started, and our brothers in Hizbullah went as witnesses rather than suspects.”
Nasrallah added that his party was preparing a comprehensive report on the STL’s investigations, and that it might be released “soon” to the public.
“When we discover spies, it means discovering the cornerstone in a new plot against the country and the region based on the indictment that will not take place,” Nasrallah added.
He was speaking on the occasion of Hizbullah’s annual commemoration of wounded resistance members.

Nasrallah also questioned whether the Information Department of the Internal Security Forces had prior knowledge of Qazzi’s role before Lebanese Army Intelligence uncovered his alleged activities.
“If the Information Department had knowledge of Qazzi prior to his arrest by Lebanese Army Intelligence; what did they know about him, since when, and why haven’t they arrested him?” Nasrallah asked.
He called on Premier Saad Hariri and Interior Minister Ziyad Baroud to launch a probe into to the issue.
“This is a very big issue,” Nasrallah said. “I have the answer, but we haven’t made any decision yet and we will decide upon the issue based on the response of the Information Department.”
Tackling the issue of Israeli espionage networks in Lebanon, Nasrallah said despite being capable of gathering information through technologically advanced techniques, the human factor remained very essential in planning a list of Israeli targets ahead of any upcoming war against Lebanon.
Nasrallah warned that Lebanon’s telecommunication infrastructure had been totally exposed to Israeli for a “very long time,” which was a major factor in providing to support to Israel in its July 2006 war against Lebanon.
Nasrallah said that the Cabinet’s attempt in May 2008 to dismantle Hizbullah’s telecommunication network was neither innocent nor technical, but rather masterminded by the Israelis, since the resistance's network did not constitute a threat to internal security.
The decision by then-Premier Fouad Siniora’s Cabinet sparked armed clashes in Beirut and the Chouf between government supporters and pro-Hizbullah fighters in May 2008.
Nasrallah called on the Cabinet to launch a probe in the issue to determine those who provoked politicians into taking such a decision, since “the source behind the operation lies in Israel” as the decision almost led to civil strife.
Nasrallah also called on the judiciary and officials to swiftly approve death sentences for all collaborators, irrespective of their religious affiliations. Under the Penal Code, only enemy agents whose activities lead directly to the death of individuals or material destruction can be sentenced to death.
The Hizbullah leader also mocked Lebanon’s strictly confessional political system, expressing his fear that no death sentences would be issued for a collaborator from a given sect, until others from other sects had been discovered, to preserve sectarian “balance.”
He said convicted collaborators, some of whom have been active since the 1990s, should face the death penalty for their crimes.

Spotty Blogging for a While

I will be vacationing in Ethiopia, Madagascar, Sri Lanka and Nepal over the next 4 weeks. Depending on Internet access, blogging might probably be severely hindered. I look forward to the trip: Ethiopia is one of the oldest Christian countries and Amharic is a semitic language related to Aramaic, Lebanon's pre-Islamic invasion language. Madagascar has the world's only present-day native population of lemurs, the ancestral primates from which apes, monkeys and humans evolved. Sri Lanka is a beautiful island where the people are most gentle and civilized, and has one of the highest literacy rates in the world. Nepal is, like Lebanon, a mountain country and I have always dreamed of going to Katmandu right up under the sky.
The most dangerous part of the trip is going in and out of Beirut Airport. I hear Hezbollah, which controls the airport, straps suicide bombers to plane tires and then blow them up as they take off.

HEZBOLLAH's TOTAL CONTROL OF BEIRUT AIRPORT: TERRORISM COULD STRIKE ANY TIME

For those Americans, Europeans, Saudis ... and anyone who happens to be an innocent citizen of a country that Iran, Syria and Hezbollah don't like, and who have not yet heard the story. Here it goes:

Last week, a Shiite young man carrying a photo of Khomeini used industrial pliers to cut through the fence surrounding the Beirut Airport tarmac, and rushed under a plane taxying on the tarmac ready to bring a planeload of Saudi tourists back to Riyadh after spending some time as tourists in Lebanon.

The young man's plan was to climb on the plane tires and just as it was taking off to blow the plane up and cause a major disaster. The target: Saudi Arabia, Iran's supreme enemy. The executioner of Iran's and Syria's designs: Hezbollah. Like any action it takes in Lebanon, Hezbollah does not give a hoot about Lebanon, it merely executes Iran's and Syria's orders to deliver political messages.

Do not listen to Lebanese Tourism Minister who is saying that this is blown out of proportion. It is not. This is a very very serious issue and it is the proof that Hezbollah controls Beirut Airport and can at will blow planes, kidnap Western hostages, and send messages of any kind on behalf of its masters in Damascus and Tehran.

GOING TO LEBANON THIS SUMMER IS VERY DANGEROUS...
THE COUNTRY IS ON A TINDERBOX....
TENSIONS BETWEEN HEZBOLLAH WITH THE UN PEACEKEEPING FORCE IN SOUTH LEBANON....
THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL TRIBUNAL READY TO ISSUE INDICTMENTS AGAINST HEZBOLLAH....
IRAN'S NEW SANCTIONS JUST WENT INTO EFFECT...
ISRAEL HAS BEEN PREPARING FOR A NEW WAR WITH HEZBOLLAH AND ALSO TO BOMB IRAN'S NUCLEAR FACILITIES....
IRAN's ONLY REACH TO ISRAEL IS THROUGH ITS PROXY MILITIA IN LEBANON, HEZBOLLAH WHICH HAS 40,000 MISSILES POINTED AT ISRAEL....
THE LEBANESE GOVERNMENT OF THE TWO DUMMIES MICHEL SULEIMAN AND SAAD HARIRI IS SOLD OUT TO SYRIA AND TOTALLY IMPOTENT AT TAKING A PRINCIPLED STANCE....

GO TO YOUR LEBANON THIS SUMMER AT YOUR OWN RISK.... BECAUSE YOU MAY NEVER RETURN....

Hanibaal

P.S.  According to Abboud, the Lebanese Tourism Minister, finding the roadkill flattened body of a Shiite Hezbollah terrorist stuck in the wheels of a Saudi plane "should not be blown out of proportion". It is normal procedure in Lebanon. Every day, they find dead people stuck to planes in Lebanon, nothing unusual in this primitive cesspool of unprincipled Mafiosi who run the country and who would sell their mothers to make a dollar off the back of stupid tourists....  So don't be alarmed if, as you board a plane to and from Beirut, you find human remains and blood splattered all over your seat and on the wings.... it's standard Lebanese folklore, the Shiite version.

Abboud Urges Not to Exaggerate Airport Incident as Height of Tourism Season Approaches
Tourism Minister Fadi Abboud said Tuesday that the discovery of a body stuck to the tire of a jet bound for Riyadh should "not be blown out of proportion."
In an interview with ANB television, Abboud said that the airport incident "happens in countries all over the world."

He urged an end to the political manipulation of this issue, "particularly since we are at the height of the tourism season."

Abboud said a meeting set to be held at Beirut airport later Tuesday between the tourism ministry and airport security officials was pre-planned.

It aims to discuss "the implementation of previously discussed issues and is not related to the airport incident," he stressed.

The meeting comes a day after the resignation of Airport Security Chief Brig. Gen. Wafiq Shuqeir.

Abboud thought that airport electronic management and control systems would be a good idea, urging the installation of surveillance cameras at the airport "to decrease such violations."

The Face of Tourism in Lebanon; Do you Really Want to go there?

Just look at the face of the Tourism Minister of Lebanon (see below), and you'd think three times before going there.
But even as he was forced to recant his statements that tourism is down 30% - he now changed his tune to an upward trend in tourism of 30% - look at what is going on in Lebanon:

- Israel and Hezbollah are just about to blow the country apart like they did in 2006. It is imminent, say the experts.
- Israel is just about to bomb Iran's nuclear facilities, and everybody agrees that Hezbollah (Iran's militia in Lebanon) will retaliate in south Lebanon, sending the whole country into mayhem.
- DO YOU REALLY WANT TO GET STUCK IN DIESEL-POLLUTED BEIRUT UNDER THE ISRAELI BOMBS IN A SWELTERING 105 DEGREE TEMPERATURES, WAITING FOR A 12-HOUR BOAT RIDE TO CYPRUS BEFORE YOU CAN GO HOME? If your answer is yes, then by all means, please go to Lebanon as a tourist...
- The surge of travelers to Lebanon in the summer is not tourists - as this liar sour-faced Tourism Minister is being forced to say by Hassan Nasrallah and Michel Sleiman. It is the usual brief summer visit by a tiny fraction of the 15 million displaced Lebanese expatriates (who escaped the Lebanese Shiite Gulag)  to their families in Lebanon, and a trickle of wealthy Saudis who come to Lebanon under the duress of not being able to go to Europe and other Western destinations lest they be rectally examined by bomb-sniffing dogs at those airports. No such royal treatment at Beirut Airport (instead see story below). There is no tourism in Lebanon. I live here and I see no buses full or Japanese or German or French tourists like I used to see in the good old days before Hezbollah took over the country.
- Two months ago, Al-Qaeda-inspired Sunni villagers south of Beirut mob-lynched an Egyptian worker accusing him of raping a girl. Doesn't that remind people of the black lynchings in the American south?

- Last week, Iranian Revolutionary Guards-inspired Shiite villagers in south Lebanon attacked French soldiers of UNIFIL (the UN Peacekeeping force) that is there to protect them - the villagers - against supposed Israeli aggressions! Remember that Hezbollah bombed the French Embassy once and the US Embassy twice, the US Marine barracks and the French paratroopers barracks (also in Lebanon on peacekeeping missions), kidnapped, tortured, and hanged diplomats, teachers, Christian clergymen, administrators, journalists and university professors from France, the UK, Germany, the U, India, Ireland..... Hezbollah's Shiites really like to encourage tourism to Lebanon because it gives them ample opportunity and human material to exercise their art: terrorism...
- Only yesterday, a Hezbollah SHIITE terrorist carrying a picture of Khomeini broke through the fence of Beirut Airport and rushed under a plane flying to SUNNI Saudi Arabia as it was taxying on the tarmac. No one apparently noticed him - but my guess is that Beirut Airport security, which is totally controlled by Hezbollah, let him in to bring the plane down. But something - LUCK, I guess - happened and his remains were found flattened on the plane tires as it landed in Riyadh Saudi Arabia. What a way to go to Heaven and meet Allah! But the fact is, THERE IS NO SECURITY IN LEBANON AND ANY WESTERN TOURIST THAT GOES THERE IS DOING SO AT HIS OR HER OWN RISK.

My own personal advice - and I hate to say it, but it's the truth: LEBANON IS NOT PLACE FOR TOURISTS - IT IS A DANGEROUS, DIRTY, POLLUTED PLACE THAT COULD ERUPT INTO MAJOR WARS AT ANY MOMENT.

YOU'D BE AN IDIOT TO GO THERE NOW. Just look at the face of the Tourism Minister: Even if Hezbollah was not running Lebanon, I would not want to go Lebanon because of this face.
Hanibaal.

Sour-faced Tourism Minister Abboud Denies Remarks on Cancellation of Tourist Reservations
Tourism Minister Fadi Abboud on Sunday denied remarks attributed to him that many tourists had cancelled reservations to visit Lebanon following the latest skirmishes between southerners and U.N. peacekeepers.
The minister said he told the last cabinet session that exaggeration over the clashes could lead to a drop in the rate of reservations.
He said Rafik Hariri International Airport is currently welcoming around 15,000 people daily, most of them tourists, a 30% rise from last year.
"We believe in sustainable tourism in different Lebanese regions … that's why we are working to limit measures (preventing) the arrival of tourists through different ports," Abboud added.

Hezbollah-Style Justice: Is This the Justice We Want in Lebanon?

TEHRAN, Iran – The lawyer for an Iranian widow sentenced to be stoned to death for an adultery conviction expressed cautious optimism Saturday after Iran said it will review the decision, which has drawn international condemnation.
Human rights activists and other officials, however, warned that Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, a 43-year-old mother of two, could still be hanged.
The outcry over the death sentence is the latest thorn in Iran's relationship with the international community, with the United States, Britain and international human rights groups urging Tehran to stay the execution.
Stoning was widely imposed in the years following the 1979 Islamic revolution, and even though Iran's judiciary still regularly hands down such sentences, they are often converted to other punishments. The last known stoning was carried out in 2007, although the government rarely confirms that such punishments have been meted out.
British media reported late Thursday that the stoning would not occur, citing the Iranian embassy in London.
Mohammed Javad Larijani of Iran's human rights council told the state news agency late Friday that the "review and appeal of the verdict is on the agenda," though he maintained it was not due to outside pressure.
"The hue and cry that the West has launched over this case will not affect our judges," he said. "The implementation of Islamic regulations like stoning and the headscarf have always been faced with their impudently hostility and opposition."
He added that converting sentences of stoning to alternative punishments has been common over the past years.
Ashtiani's lawyer, Mohammad Mostafaei, said he was optimistic the review would bring an end to his client's suffering after years of living "with the nightmare of death by stoning."
Amnesty International, however, warned Ashtiani should not be executed by some other method, noting that three people sentenced to stoning last year were instead hanged.
"A mere change of the method of execution would not address the injustice faced by Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani," said Hassiba Hadj Sahraoui, Amnesty International's Middle East and North Africa deputy director in a statement Friday.
Human Rights Watch, one of several groups publicizing Ashtiani's case, said she was first convicted in May 2006 of having an "illicit relationship" with two men following the death of her husband — for which a court in Tabriz, in northwestern Iran, sentenced her to 99 lashes.
But later that year she was also convicted of adultery, despite having retracted a confession which she claims was made under duress.
Mostafaei said the trial had not been fair because Ashtiani had no access to her lawyer during the trial.
"I entered the case after the verdict was issued," he said, insisting that Ashtiani had never confessed to adultery and there were no witnesses.
In its report Friday, the state news agency added that Western media, specifically BBC and Radio Free Europe's Farsi services, had launched a propaganda campaign over the case.
Opponents of the Iranian government held a protest outside the Iranian Embassy in London on Sunday to condemn the death sentence. Several celebrities, including Lindsay Lohan, also have taken up her cause.
The last confirmed stoning death was carried out against Jafar Kiani, a man convicted of adultery in northern Iran.
Iran's judiciary did not elaborate on how the stoning was carried out. Under Islamic rulings, a man is usually buried up to his waist, while a woman is buried up to her chest with her hands also buried. Those carrying out the verdict then throw stones until the condemned dies.
Ashtiani's stoning was approved by the country's Supreme Court, but the law could allow the judiciary to order another trial or appeal for a pardon from Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who has final say on all state matters.

MONSIEUR LE PRESIDENT SARKOZY: RETIREZ LA FINUL DU LIBAN-SUD

PRESIDENT SARKOZY: PULL YOUR FRENCH TROOPS FROM UNIFIL.

UNIFIL HAS FAILED - IT HAS BEEN IN SOUTH LEBANON SINCE 1978

IT NEVER PREVENTED OR STOPPED ANY GUERRILA-TERRORIST ACTIVITY FROM LEBANESE TERRITORY, NOR DID IT PREVENT OR STOP ISRAELI RETALIATIONS.

UNIFIL IS A JOKE. IT SERVES AS A COVER FOR HEZBOLLAH TO CONTINUE ARMING AND STOCKING WEAPONS. IT IS AN INCOMPETENT, INCAPABLE FORCE, WHOSE ONLY ACHIEVEMENT OVER MORE THAN 30 YEARS HAS BEEN THE KILLING AND MAIMING OF HUNDREDS OF FOREIGN SOLDIERS FROM FIJI, FRANCE, GHANA, IRELAND, SPAIN, ITALY AND MANY OTHER COUNTRIES.

UNIFIL IS A COVER FOR A DERELICT LEBANESE GOVERNMENT THAT IS INCAPABLE OF POLICING ITS OWN BORDERS OR QUELLING OUTLAW ORGANIZATIONS LIKE HEZBOLLAH, THE PLO, THE PFLP AND OTHERS OPERATING OUTSIDE STATE SOVEREIGNTY.

THE LEBANESE GOVERNMENT KNOWS THAT SYRIA - WHICH IS A COWARD ARAB NATION THAT DOES NOT ALLOW THOSE SAME ORGANIZATIONS FROM FIRING MISSILES FROM ITS OWN TERRITORY TO "LIBERATE" THE GOLAN HEIGHTS -  IS BEHIND THOSE OUTLAW ORGANIZATIONS WHICH IT SUPPORTS TO LIBERATE THE NON-EXISTING OCCUPATION OF SHEBAA FARMS.

THE LEBANESE GOVERNMENT KNOWS THAT IT IS SYRIA WHICH OCCUPIES THE SHEBAA FARMS SINCE IT MAINTAINS A CLAIM FOR THEM AND REFUSES TO PROVIDE DOCUMENTS TO THE UN, OFFICIALLY CEDING THE SHEBAA FARMS TO LEBANON. THE SHEBAA FARMS ARE SYRIAN TERRITORY OCCUPIED BY ISRAEL. LEBANON HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SHEBAA FARMS. THE ISRAELI OCCUPATION OF THE SHEBAA FARMS IS A SYRIAN PROBLEM, NOT A LEBANESE ONE. FOR LEBANON, THE SHEBAA FARMS "OCCUPATION" IS ONE BIG LIE CONCOCTED BY THE SYRIANS AND HEZBOLLAH IN 2000 AFTER THE ISRAELI WITHDRAWAL TO JUSTIFY MAINTAINING AN ARMED HEZBOLLAH IN LEBANON AND TO KEEP LEBANON AS THE ONLY ACTIVE WAR FRONT WITH ISRAEL, AGAINST THE WILL OF THE LEBANESE PEOPLE.

YET, THE LEBANESE GOVERNMENT STILL WORKS AS A SLAVE TO SYRIA. THE ENTIRE LEBANESE GOVERNMENT IS BEHOLDEN TO THE SYRIAN DICTATORSHIP IN DAMASCUS.

EVERYONE IS LIVING ONE BIG LIE WITH UNIFIL. EVERYBODY KNOWS THAT THE REAL PROBLEM IS IN SYRIA, YET COUNTLESS LIVES HAVE BEEN WASTED, COUNTLESS PEOPLE HAVE BEEN MAIMED AND INJURED, ENTIRE VILLAGES HAVE BEEN UPROOTED, AN ENTIRE COUNTRY (LEBANON) IS HELD HOSTAGE BY THE VULGAR BAATHIST TYRANNY IN SYRIA, AND BILLIONS OF DOLLARS HAVE BEEN SPENT JUST SO SYRIA (AND IRAN) CAN FIGHT ISRAEL THROUGH LEBANON, AND NOT THROUGH THE SYRIAN GOLAN BORDERS WITH ISRAEL WHICH HAVE BEEN PEACEFUL SINCE 1974.

UNIFIL IS PROTECTING THIS INJUSTICE.

UNIFIL AND THE UN ARE PERPETUATING THE PROBLEM INSTEAD OF SOLVING IT.

THE SOLUTION:
- IMPOSE CRIPPLING SANCTIONS ON SYRIA TO FORCE IT TO MAKE A DECISION ON SHEBAA - EITHER CEDE IT BACK TO LEBANON OR AFFIRM ITS SYRIAN IDENTITY. ISRAEL WOULD THEN ACT ACCORDINGLY.
- ISRAEL SHOULD BOMB STRATEGIC TARGETS INSIDE SYRIA TO FORCE THE SYRIAN REGIME TO STOP ITS 40-YEAR OLD DEADLY CHARADE IN LEBANON AND FORCE IT TO NEGOTIATE A SOLUTION ON THE GOLAN HEIGHTS.

THE ALTERNATIVE:
- A MULTI-SECTARIAN MILITIA UPHOLDING A STRICTLY LEBANESE IDENTITY SHOULD BE BUILT, ARMED AND TRAINED INSIDE LEBANON TO STAND UP TO HEZBOLLAH, IF THE LEBANESE ARMY AND SECURITY FORCES CONTINUE TO BE INCOMPETENT SLAVES TO THE SYRIAN DICTATORSHIP. IN 1975, THE LEBANESE LAUNCHED A WAR OF LIBERATION AGAINST THE ARMED PALESTINIAN GANGS LED BY THE PLO. TODAY, WE NEED ANOTHER WAR OF LIBERATION TO RID OURSELVES OF HEZBOLLAH. NOTHING ELSE HAS WORKED.

- LEBANON SHOULD BE DIVIDED: LEBANON'S MUSLIMS WANT TO LIBERATE PALESTINE ON BEHALF OF SYRIA, IRAN AND THE PALESTINIANS. LEBANON'S SECULAR CHRISTIANS HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF THE CHARADE.  THEREFORE, LEBANON SHOULD BE SPLIT INTO TWO SMALLER ENTITIES: ONE MUSLIM TO CONTINUE FIGHTING AND LIBERATING AND RESISTING, AND ONE SECULAR-CHRISTIAN TO REMOVE ITSELF FROM THE DEADLY CHARADE, LIKE JORDAN, THE PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY, EGYPT AND OTHER ARAB COUNTRIES HAVE DONE. THE TWO ENTITIES MAY BE FEDERATED IF THE WILL EXISTS.

IN 1920, AT THE PARIS PEACE CONFERENCE, THE MOUNT LEBANON ENTITY, WHICH HAD BEEN INDEPENDENT WITHIN THE OTTOMAN EMPIRE WAS ENLARGED TO INCLUDE MUSLIM AREAS: TRIPOLI, AKKAR, THE BEKAA, AND THE SOUTHERN AREAS AROUND SIDON AND TYRE. THOSE AREAS NEVER WANTED TO BE PART OF LEBANON. THEY WANTED TO BE PART OF SOME ARAB ENTITY (KING FAISAL'S KINGDOM). TIME HAS COME TO RECOGNIZE THAT LEBANON IS A FAILED EXPERIMENT IN MUSLIM-CHRISTIAN COEXISTENCE. FOR 100 YEARS, THIS ARRANGEMENT HAS FAILED. THE MUSLIMS OF LEBANON DO NOT RECOGNIZE LEBANON AS THEIR NATIONAL FINAL HOMELAND. THEY SHOULD THEN BE ALLOWED TO SECEDE FROM IT AND JOIN SYRIA OR PALESTINE OR ANY ARAB ENTITY THEY WISH.

LEBANON MUST BE MADE WHOLE AGAIN. THE COEXISTENCE EXPERIMENT HAS FAILED ANDE WILL CONTINUE TO FAIL. LEBANON IS AN UTTERLY FAILED STATE THAT SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO SURVIVE. IN THE EUROPEAN UNION, THERE ARE MUCH SMALLER ENTITIES THAN LEBANON THAT ARE ALLOWED TO THRIVE AS INDEPENDENT SOVEREIGN STATES: ANDORRA, MONACO, LUXEMBOURG, LICHTENSTEIN, MALTA, SAN MARINO, AND VATICAN CITY. WHY CAN'T LEBANON BE LEFT ALONE BY THE ARABS AND THE MUSLIMS WHO WANT TO LIBERATE PALESTINE FROM LEBANON BUT NOT FROM THEIR OWN COUNTRIES?

MR. LE PRESDIENT SARKOZY: ABANDONNEZ LE LIBAN, ABANDONNEZ LA FINUL, LAISSEZ LE GOURVENMENT LIBANAIS ASSUMER SES REPONSABILITES AU LIEU DE CONTINUER A PARASITER SUR LE MONDE ET SUR LES NATIONS-UNIES EN REFUSANT DE FAIRE LA PAIX AVEC ISRAEL. RETIREZ VOS TROUPES DU LIBAN-SUD PARCE QUE HEZBOLLAH UN JOUR VA TUER VOS SOLDATS, COMME LE HEZBOLLAH L'A FAIT EN OCTOBRE 1983 DANS L'ATTENTAT AU CAMION PIEGE DU DRAKKAR A BEYOUTH  EN TUANT 68 PARACHUTISTES FRANCAIS.

MR. SECRETARY GENERAL BAN KI-MOON: SHUT DOWN UNIFIL AND WITHDRAW IT FROM THE SOUTH. LET THE LEBANESE GOVERNMENT ASSUME ITS OWN RESPONSIBILITIES TOWARDS PEACE. LEBANON MUST DECLARE ITS WILLINGNESS TO NEGOTIATE PEACE TERMS WITH ISRAEL OVER ANY BORDER DISAGREEMENTS, LIKE JORDAN AND EGYPT HAVE DONE. SYRIA HAS BEEN PREVENTING LEBANON FROM DOING THE SAME FOR 40 YEARS. IT IS A CRIME AND INJUSTICE PERPETRATED BY THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY TO CONTINUE PROTECTING THE SYRIAN DICTATORSHIP'S HOLDING LEBANON HOSTAGE IN ORDER TO GET ITS GOLAN HEIGHTS BACK. UNIFIL IS MERELY A TOOL FOR SYRIA TO MAINTAIN THE STATUS QUO. CRIPPLING SANCTIONS AGAINST SYRIA ARE THE BEST ROUTE TO FORCE THE COWARD SYRIANS TO FIGHT THEIR OWN WARS ON THE GOLAN, LEAVE LEBANON ALONE, OR MAKE PEACE WITH ISRAEL.

The Great Jackass in Baabda: Imitiating His Syrian Masters. Lebanon is Now Like Syria - a Dictatorship

FACEBOOK: CUT OFF THE COUNTRY OF LEBANON FROM YOUR NETWORK. PEOPLE'S FREEDOM OF OPINION ON YOUR NETWORK IS BEING TRASHED BY THE LEBANESE HEZBOLLAH GOVERNMENT OF JACKASS PRESIDENT MICHEL SULEIMAN.
 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To people from around the world:  Don't be fooled by what you read about Lebanon having a vigorous press and a haven for free opinion. This is the biggest lie ever to convince a few pitiful tourists to come spend a few dollars in the miserable, dirty, corrupt dictatorship that Lebanon has become.

For one, the "free" press merely appears to be free in Lebanon because each of the major corrupt politicians owns a newspaper and a television channel, and they hurl insults at each other like they have been doing for decades. This may look like a vigorous intellectual fight over ideas, when in reality it is the same militia mentality transposed into the printed word. The fact is, there are no Independent newspapers or television channels that operate outside ant affiliation with a political party, a religious group, or other biased entities. In fact, it is virtually impossible to start a newspaper or a television channel or any medium of information in Lebanon, because the laws and regulations (put in place by the corrupt monopolistic establishment itself) make it very hard to do so. You have to be a member of the Press Syndicate in order to be able to own or run a newspaper or television channel, and in order to become a member of the Press Syndicate, guess who decides to let you in the club? The current owners and managers of the various politically-affiliated media. So if they don't like you or if they don't like your ideas or if they think you can a breeze of fresh air that threatens their stale rotten control of the spoken and written word in Lebanon, then they will deny your application to become a member of the "Press Syndicate" club of sold out journalists for hire that they are, and then you cannot start a newspaper or any news medium. Believe me, I tried.

Then, you have the recent Facebook episode whereby the Great Maronite Jackass in Baabda (الأهبل الكبير في بعبدا) Michel Suleiman arrests and charges (and will soon convict) three young men for making disparaging comments about His Great Maronite Assholeness on Facebook. For me, this is the equivalent of the riots that erupted a few years back when a comedian poked fun at the Great Shiite Cro-Magnon Hassan Nasrallah of Hezbollah: his Shiite goons invaded Christian East Beirut, burning and looting and killing.... authentic Islamic customs and lore at work. Basically, in Lebanon, you cannot criticize the politicians unless you are one of them: They can spend millions of the dollars they pilfer from the Treasury on their own personal media empires to hurl insults at one another, or they can impose their ideas by force of weapons (like Zeballah), but ordinary citizens are not allowed to say one word against their Corrupt Highnesses because they will immediately dispatch their militias (Hezbollah goons) or the State's own militias (the Security Forces and the Army are basically at the service of the Mafia bosses who run the country) to intimidate ordinary Lebanese who dare "harm" their image or the "pristine" relations that Lebanon has with the civilized country next door, Syria.  Now, for them to spend any time fixing roads, have running water or electricity, or do any of the services that a State and its officials are supposed to do - that would be beneath them. They are Great Jackasses or Sayyids or Beks, or Sheiks, and they all have friends in other big and powerful countries, and that is why they are all in power - because they have heavily armed friends.

Lebanon is a dictatorship disguised as a democracy - and a pitiful one at that. It would be acceptable if these corrupt jerks ran the country by force, AND still run it well. But for them to take power by force, AND not deliver basic services, that is mind-boggling. The Lebanese are really a stupid people for accepting to live like this - like a herd of mentally retarded idiots who every 2-3 years are herded to the slaughterhouse because of the big testicles of their bosses, and then when they have a chance at elections, they vote them back to power!!

The Great Jackass in his Palace up in the Baabda hills, General Michel Suleiman, is an embarrassment to Lebanon. The country of Lebanon has been in a state of war for more than 40 years, a jungle of militias, killers, gangs, foreign armies, mercenaries - including Suleiman himself as a lackey to his Syrian masters in Damascus - and there is no end in sight, while the Lebanese army is a pitiful organization that operates at the mercy of corrupt politicians who are sold out to foreign powers and countries, like Suleiman himself, and the best thing that President Suleiman can do is to arrest three youngsters who criticized him. Why doesn't he fix roads, cut down on pollution and on deforestation, provide more than 8 hours of electricity a day, deliver potable running water (instead of the millions of plastic bottles and jugs that trash the forests and waters of he country), work hard and stand on principle to eliminate the remaining militias of Hezbollah and the Palestinian terrorists instead of bending and turning his ass to them and to Damascus like the Syrian whore that he is?

How can these people have the decency to stay in power when they are hapless helpless idiots who do nothing for their country other than sit pretty in their palaces and pretend to be running a country? And Suleiman is only one example. Hariri and Berri and all the other tyrants are the same... They each work for a foreign country:
- SULEIMAN = SYRIA's MAN in Lebanon. He is married to Wafaa Khouriyeh, a Syrian whose brother used to be Hafez Asad's spokesman. The Great Jackass is married to Syria!
- HARIRI = SAUDI ARABIA's MAN in Lebanon. The guy was born in Saudi Arabia, he had the Saudi nationality before he had the Lebanese, and he keeps a goatee like all the Saudi royals do. He inherited the premiership from his fat bastard father Rafik who became prime minister because he had billions he made kissing ass and building gold-laced toilets to the Saudi royals.
- BERRI = IRAN's MAN in Lebanon. This is the ultimate foreign dog agent. This guy pretends to have a party called Amal, which is nothing than a facade (with ties - cravates) to the Hezbollah mastodonts (who wear no ties because it is a decadent western thing). Because Hezbollah is an embarrassment socially, Iran created the good (Amal) and the bad (Hezbollah) aspects to the Shiite community of Lebanon. In other words, Berri is Iran's man to the same extent as Nasrallah is, except Berri looks acceptable to the West because he does not wear a turban and has no beard. But the bottom line is the same: Both he and Nasrallah are foreign agents paid and managed by Tehran to cause havoc in Lebanon by harassing Israel with their pitiful pathetic weapons and rockets, and without any consideration to the damage they are doing to their own country. The ultimate foreign mercenaries.

Conclusion: There is no free press in Lebanon and there is no democracy in Lebanon. Both of these propositions are LIES. Lebanon is a terrifying Gulag where people are made to live in fear: Fear of dying from wars and crimes and militias and bombs.... Fear of Hezbollah and the Palestinian terrorists and the Israeli retaliations.... Fear because of en incompetent useless army and security services who, instead of doing their job go hunting after young men poking fun at their president... Fear of going hungry in an economically bankrupt country whose young people continue to leave and emigrate... Fear of saying anything that upsets the tyrants that run their lives... Lebanon is the new modern Soviet-style Gulag in the Middle East... Welcome to the cold and cruel Lebanon, where you can go to jail and be tortured because the government's priority is maintaining the proper image of the Great Maronite Jackass Dummy who is brought to Baabda every 6 six years to satisfy - like a perfect whore does - everyone. Before the current Jackass Suleiman, we had an even worse Jackass Lahoud who did exactly what the current scumbag Suleiman is doing: Kiss the Syrians, the Iranians, the Hezbollah cretins on their hairy and prickly asses, then wipe his filthy mouth with the Lebanese flag! I should call him the Great Whore in Baabda, but that would be insulting to the real whores whom I respect more than this imbecile, and then Jackass (جحش or بغل in Lebanese) is more appropriate, don't you think?

HRW: Charges in Suleiman-Facebook Case Undermine Lebanon's Reputation
Human Rights Watch has urged the Lebanese government to "immediately" drop criminal charges against three men for posting comments critical of President Michel Suleiman on the social networking site Facebook.
"The charges cannot be justified given that a major element of freedom of speech is the right to criticize a public official," the non-governmental organization said.
The group also called on Lebanon to repeal penal code provisions allowing for prison sentences in libel and defamation cases.
"These charges undermine Lebanon's reputation as the country with the greatest tolerance for free expression in the Arab world," said Nadim Houry, Beirut director at HRW. "Using criminal laws to censor Lebanese citizens is an embarrassing step in the wrong direction for the government."
Naim George Hanna, 27, Antoine Youssef Ramia, 29, and Shebel Rajeh Qasab, 27, were kept in detention between June 22 and 28.
They face up to two years in jail if convicted. The men were released on bail on July 2 pending further investigation.

FUCKALLAH IS DEAD: ألله يغمقلو -ANOTHER TERRORIST CELEBRATED BY LEBANON

After Samir Kuntar was released from prison by Israel, he was welcome as a national hero by the Lebanese government - even the Great Jackass - الأهبل الكبير - in Baabda Michel Suleiman went on his knees to congratulate the man who "liberated" Palestine by crushing the skull of a 5-year old girl. Arab heroism at its best.

And here we go again, the "Grand Ayatollah Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah" (no shortage of grandiose titles for these primitive religious sorcerers) - the Iraqi-born "spiritual leader" of Hezbollah, the predecessor of the current leader Cro-Magnon Hassan Nasrallah, the man who ran Hezbollah in the 1980s and early 1990s when it was bombing US and French marines, kidnapping teachers, priests, university administrators, diplomats, journalists, and even mediators and negotiators, from the streets of Beirut to torture and kill them on behalf of Iran and Syria, hijacking planes (TWA flight 847 in 1985), assassinating university presidents (Malcolm Kerr) and all the heroic "liberation" actions of Hezbollah....

Note in passing that Lebanon is always the recipient of these primitive religious men come to it from other countries. Fuckallah is from Iraq, and Moussa Sadr was from Iran (he could barely speak Arabic).

The Lebanese government of Grand Idiot Michel Suleiman and Supreme Imbecile Saad Hariri has declared a day of mourning for the "Grand Ayatollah Fuckallah"... What a loss to the glorious nation of Lebanon! The nation of quintessential garbage and pure filth, the nation of advanced 8-hour rationing of electricity per day, the nation proudly declared recently one of the most corrupt in the world, the responsible nation where pollution and rape of the environment is a national pastime, the "State of Laws" (دولة القانون) ruled by corrupt mercenary politicians in collusion with divinely-inspired and prolific saint-producer religious establishments from the Stone Age run the show over a herd of Lebanese people who accept their fate like brainless idiots.

My honest opinion is, as we say in Lebanese, ألله يغمقلو, or "May God dig a deeper grave for him" so we all forget him and never hear of him again.... And may Hassan Nasrallah, Bashar Asad and Mahmud Ahmadinejad follow him soon to their 8-feet under the ground graves.  The latter two numskulls - Asad and Ahmadinejad - will also be visiting Beirut in the near future - what glory for the steadfast, resisting, liberationist nation of Lebanon to welcome these two dictators with the most abhorrent human rights records....

Today I am so proud to be a Lebanese....

National Day of Mourning Tuesday over Fuckallah's Death
The Lebanese government declared Tuesday a national day of mourning over the death of Grand Ayatollah Mohammed Hussein Fuckallah.
A government statement also announced a one-day countrywide shutdown on Tuesday.
Fuckallah, former spiritual mentor of Hizbullah and branded a "terrorist" by Washington, died in hospital on Sunday. He was 75.
Fuckallah giving one finger to each of the US, Israel, Michel Suleiman and Saad Hariri.

Fuckallah's funeral will take place at 1:30pm Tuesday in Beirut's southern suburbs of Haret Hreik. A top authority of Shiite Islam in Lebanon and the region, especially Iraq where he was born, Fuckallah held the title of "sayyed" to denote direct lineage with the Prophet Mohammed. A fiery anti-U.S. and anti-Israeli critic, he died in a Beirut hospital where he was admitted on Friday for internal bleeding

THREATS TO STL and UNIFIL: A NEW "CIVIL" WAR IS NEEDED IN LEBANON

Just to prove the post I wrote yesterday, the top Syrian collaborator in Lebanon, Wi'am Wahhab, issued a threat to the Special Tribunal for Lebanon - the UN Court specially set up to investigate and convict the criminals who killed former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri - in which he coupled the eventual rulings by the Tribunal against Hezbollah to the safety of UNIFIL forces in the south.

This more than explains the "clashes" over the weekend between UNIFIL patrols and so called "villagers" (who are really Hezbollah hoodlums and gangsters acting as proxies to Syria and Iran).

I also note the fact that even the Syrians are now publicly admitting and taking for granted that Hezbollah - which acts under instructions and with the support of Damascus and Tehran - will be indicted in the Hariri assassination.

My reply to the filthy dog Wahhab:

- We need a new war in Lebanon to cleanse the country from all Syrian and Iranian militias. A similar war to the 1975-1990 war in which the Lebanese cleansed the country from the PLO and all the other gangster Palestinian terrorists groups, thanks to a lot of help from the Israelis in 1982. Nothing has helped so far: Diplomacy failed, abiding by the Taif Agreement has not helped... Everyone cleaned their act in 1990, except Syria and the Iranian proxy militia Hezbollah, which kept their occupation and their weapons, and keep Lebanon on the verge of war all the time. The Lebanese people have tired of the charade.

- This time, it will be the turn of Hezbollah and all those operating outside the sovereignty of the Lebanese State and acting on behalf of the terror states of Syria and Iran.

- The Lebanese Forces militias should start rebuilding immediately: Recruit, re-arm, train, and rebuild the fighting infrastructure that the Lebanese Forces used to have before the Taif Agreement. The new Lebanese Forces should integrate members from all sects: Christians, Sunnis, Shiites, Druze and others who believe in state sovereignty and who no longer want Lebanon to be a hostage to the 40-year long tug of war between Syria (and Iran) and Israel. Today we are exactly where we were in 1973:  An outlaw militia (then PLO, now Hezbollah) imposing its order on a weak and hypocritical Lebanese state and government that don't have the decency to publicly speak the truth, and unwilling to use the Lebanese army to crush any lawless organizations that keep dragging the country into war with Israel. The outlaw militia of Hezbollah runs its own army and its own diplomacy and acts on behalf of foreign powers and not in the interests of Lebanon. Given the inability and incompetence of the State to do anything about this situation, the people of Lebanon should begin re-arming themselves and preparing for a confrontation with Hezbollah. A new war is needed to liberate the country a second time from foreign mercenaries and gangsters.

Wahab Attacks Hariri Tribunal, Warns UNIFIL against Implications of Court Ruling
Tawheed Movement leader Wiam Wahab attacked the Special Tribunal for Lebanon and warned the U.N. court against stirring up sectarian rift.
Calling the internal tribunal "corrupt," and "full of fraud," and "pro-Israeli," Wahab accused the court of seeking to sow Shiite-Sunni strife.

He warned UNIFIL of the implications of the STL ruling against Hizbullah.

"UNIFIL has to be aware of the implications of a Court decision accusing Hizbullah members of involvement in the (political) assassinations, that this will affect its mission in the south," Wahab told al-Jadid TV in an interview late Sunday.
He warned that residents who contribute to providing support for UNIFIL "will no longer provide such protection."
Wahab's remarks came after a similar statement made by Lebanese Forces official Antoine Zahra who also warned that what has been happening in the south after four years of the issuance of Resolution 1701 is a "message linked to the International Tribunal."

UN SECRETARY GENERAL BAN KI-MOON: PULL UNIFIL OUT OF UNGRATEFUL HEZBOLLAH-LED LEBANON

TO UN SECRETARY GENERAL BAN KI-MOON:

After 32 years of serving Lebanon as best as it could, UNIFIL has run its course. Its peace-keeping mission is hampered by a long succession of ambivalent, weak, and puppet Lebanese governments who don't even have the decency of sending Lebanese army troops to police and control the lawless Lebanese south.

Like the Multi-National Force of the 1980s, which came to Lebanon to assist the Lebanese and the Palestinians to evacuate the PLO from Beirut, UNIFIL has been in the south of Lebanon because the Lebanese government has surrendered its sovereignty over its own land to hoodlums, terrorists, gangs, and outlaws paid and managed by Syria and Iran to maintain Lebanon as the only Arab war front with Israel. In contrast, UNIFIL's equivalent on the Golan Heights - UN Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) - has been operating since 1974, but there is no Hezbollah, no PLO, no PFLP, or any other terrorist organizations freely operating from Syrian territory against Israel. What the Assad regime tightly controls and prohibits in Syria, it enables in South Lebanon, thanks to subservient and puppet Lebanese regimes, and traitor and collaborator Lebanese politicians who have no problem turning their country into a war zone so that their masters in Damascus and Tehran enjoy peace and calm in their own countries.

Like the Multi-National Force, UNIFIL is doomed to failure. It has already given hundreds of deads and injured soldiers from such countries as Fiji, Nepal, Ireland, France, Italy, Spain... etc. all honorable and decent countries that send their best young men to protect the Lebanese, only to find the UNGRATEFUL FILTHY Lebanese turning against them, as they are doing now. Hezbollah has imposed its order in Lebanon. It has taken over the government of the weak spineless idiots Michel Suleiman and Saad Hariri, and it is doing Iran's and Syria's bidding by inciting the villagers of the Lebanese south against UNIFIL. The goal of this is to cause enough instability in the south to cause UNIFIL to withdraw and re-allow Hezbolah's terrorists and hoodlums back into the area south of the Litani from which they were evicted by UNIFIL and UN Resolution 1701 in 2006.

Hezbollah's Hassan Nasrallah is hemmed in like a dog on a leash by UNFIL standing between him and his enemy Israel. If he fires one rocket, or kidnaps one Israeli soldier, UNIFIL is there to prevent him and witness his actions, and he does not like it. His bosses in Tehran and Damascus want to be able to stir up events and incidents along the Israeli border with Lebanon so that they can turn around and claim to be the victims of Israeli "aggression". Without troubles in the south, Hezbollah loses its relevance and gradually loses support and its raison d'etre among the Lebanese population. It needs to stir up problems and issues to maintain the instability, and hence, its relevance. But UNIFIL stands in its way.

Tehran has just been subjected to a new set of very tough sanctions by the UN. It is unhappy and the instability in the Lebanese south is a direct reflection of Tehran's anger. It gets back at the international community by asking its proxy in Lebanon, Hezbollah, to attack the international community's representative in the Lebanese south, UNIFIL.

I appeal to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon to immediately withdraw UNIFIL from the Lebanese south. This will accomplish the following:

1 - It saves the lives of UN soldiers, because the inevitable will soon happen: A huge bombing of UN troops by Hezbollah - which will of course be blamed by the Hezbollah-dominated Lebanese government on Al-Qaeda - will kill tens, if not hundreds of UN troops, forcing an evacuation with casualties and indignity. A pre-emptive termination of UNIFIL mission in Lebanon will prevent this.

2 - It forces the ungrateful Lebanese government to come off the fence and declare clearly and unambiguously if it wants war or peace with Israel.
A - If it wants war, a UNIFIL withdrawal would open the border to Hezbollah and to a collaborator Lebanese army to attack Israel and resist and liberate - clearly and openly - without games of duplicity and deniability: the Lebanese State claims there is nothing it can do against Hezbollah and the Palestinians, but continues to make statements supporting Hezbollah and its resistance and liberation bullshit, because it is afraid of Hezbollah. Instead of confronting Hezbollah - even at the price of a civil war (which, in my opinion, would be much better than the 40-year war of attrition and no war-no peace agony)- the Lebanese State cowers to the terrorist group and pretends to support it.
B -  If it wants peace, the Lebanese government should say so, declare its intention to negotiate peace with Israel to settle all outstanding border issues, file a claim against Syria at the UN demanding that Syria officially concedes sovereignty over the Shebaa Farms to Lebanon, and bring an end to this deadly  farce, charade, and masquerade in the Lebanese south over a 10 square kilometers piece of shit of a land that no one cares about and for which thousands of people have died and an entire country has been ruined. If this unleashes the wrath of Hezbollah against the Lebanese government, then be it. At least the truth will be out, and Lebanon will go through a short and painful moment that will bring peace finally between Lebanon and Israel, like the peaceful and permanent ceasefire between Israel and Syria, and the peace treaties between Israel and Egypt, between Israel and Jordan, and between the Palestinian government and Israel.  LEBANON SHOULD NO LONGER BE THE SCAPEGOAT FOR ALL THE MURDEROUS BUT COWARD ARABS WHO DON'T WANT TO FIGHT ISRAEL THEMSELVES (because they know they will be humiliated again), YET INSIST ON TINY LEBANON FIGHTING ALL THEIR WARS FOR THEM. THE LEBANESE HAVE TO STOP PLAYING THE IDIOTS IN THIS GAME.

Mr. KI-MOON: PLEASE WITHDRAW UNIFIL FROM SOUTH LEBANON. IT'S THE ONLY HONORABLE THING YOU CAN DO TO HELP THE LEBANESE PEOPLE AGAINST HEZBOLLAH AND AGAINST THE INEPT, DUPLICITOUS, PUPPET GOVERNMENT OF MICHEL SULEIMAN AND SAAD HARIRI.

SULEIMAN AND HARIRI TO ASK UNIFIL OUT OF LEBANON

As the indictments into the Hariri assassination are to be imminently announced - and everyone expects Hezbollah to be named as the culprit in planting the bomb in downtown Beirut in collusion with Syrian intelligence - and as the Iranian nuclear impasse is reaching a climax, with the toughest sanctions ever on the Iranian regime and an imminent Israeli strike against Iran's nuclear facilities, Hezbollah and its patrons in Damascus and Tehran have launched a major campaign to counter what looks like their imminent setback, if not defeat.

They are doing so by undermining the two major pillars of UN support for Lebanon, namely by pre-empting the effectiveness of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) and by undermining UNIFIL in the south of the country. In essence, Hezbollah and Iran are preparing for their next war against Israel from the Lebanese south, and even though Hezbollah has continued to arm in violation of UN resolution 1701, UNIFIL has significantly curtailed the freedom of movement of the Hezbollah terrorists south of the Litani River, and Hezbollah has become increasingly desperate to get ready for the imminent war to be triggered by an Israeli strike against Iran. Hezbollah (and Iran and Syria) need to eliminate UNIFIL in order to regain its total control of the area along the Israeli-Lebanese border.

The Iranian-Syrian-Hezbollah strategy consists in:

- Discredit the STL (Special Tribunal for Lebanon) in the eyes of the Lebanese people by using their old tactic that has successfully promoted Hezbollah in the past: Play the victim of a conspiracy, and accuse the West and the UN of using the STL to weaken the "resistance" and force it to disarm, something Hezbollah has refused to do despite the Taif Agreement of 1989, and despite numerous UN resolutions calling for Hezbollah to be disarmed. Hezbollah claims that the entire edifice of Western policy in Lebanon is to eliminate Hezbollah because Hezbollah stands in the way of their "conspiracies to undermine the resistance against the Zionists....". All the talk about the Shebaa Farms being occupied is one huge fallacy concocted by the Syrians to maintain the justification for Hezbollah's existence as an armed militia.(See my other posting on Shebaa: http://lebanoniznogood.blogspot.com/2010/05/under-un-shebaa-is-syrian-caroline.html)

- Discredit UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon) - The other side of the UN's role in Lebanon has been UNIFIL - the force deployed since 1978, and augmented in 2006 following multiple wars caused by Palestinians and Hezbollah "resisting" with rockets and missiles fired from the Lebanese south, in spite of, and without the approval of the Lebanese government. In fact, successive Lebanese governments have been forced by Syria and its proxy militias to abandon any claim to sovereignty in the south by not deploying Lebanese army troops and letting the border area turn a lawless area and the only Arab-Israeli war front.

So Hezbollah is shoving the Lebanese army between itself and UNIFIL under pretenses that UNIFIL is taking actions that violate Lebanese sovereignty by, for example, conducting maneuvers or patrols without coordinating with the Lebanese army. Hezbollah is also organizing "villagers protests" against UNIFIL patrols, and is basically driving a wedge between the Lebanese people and army on one hand, and the UN on the other. By causing tensions with UNIFIL in the south, Hezabollah is thus undermining the UN's role in Lebanon in general, and the STL in particular. So when the indictments are announced naming Hezbollah as the criminal terrorist organization that killed Rafik Hariri , the Lebanese people would have been sufficiently mobilized against the UN that any arrests would be impossible and no one would take the STL seriously, at least not in Lebanon. Hezbollah is thus preparing the ground to prevent any collaboration or cooperation between the Lebanese State (judiciary, security, military, etc.) and the STL, thus delaying or voiding any convictions that the Tribunal might reach.

Needless to say that the Lebanese army, while generally patriotic and trusted by the people, is under the boot of Syria and Hezbollah, and at least in the south, the army behaves like a dummy in the hands of Syria and Hezbollah. The Lebanese regime of Suleiman and Hariri is also a puppet that does and says whatever Syria and Iran wants them to do. Both President Suleiman and Prime Minister Hariri support Hezbollah's "resistance", support Syria's interference in Lebanese affairs, attack Israel as an occupying enemy, (even thought their bosses in Syria have a permanent ceasefire on the Golan Heights with Israel and have never "resisted" the Israeli occupation of the Golan). On the other hand, like all puppet politicians do, they sit on the fence of all major issues: Suleiman and Hariri praise both Hezbollah and the STL, they praise both Hezbollah and UNIFIL, they accept Syria's machinations as "sisterly" and "brotherly" AND they praise the UN, the STL, and UNIFIL and vote for UNIFIL's mandate renewal every 6 months at the UN. They want it both ways, even though deep down they know that their position is untenable, hypocritical, and ultimately very harmful to Lebanon, as the past 40 years have amply shown.

It seems to me therefore that the weak puppet regime of Suleiman and Hariri should for once declare what it really wants. If indeed Hezbollah is a "resistance" that the Lebanese government supports, then the Lebanese government should:

- Officially demand the withdrawal of UNIFIL from the south (because UNIFIL is hampering the resistance and violates Lebanese sovereignty).
- Send many more thousands of Lebanese army troops to the south to fight and resist against Israel alongside Hezbollah.
- Mobilize and call up to arms 100,000 young Lebanese men and women, most of whom are currently unemployed anyway and are wasting their time at partying, getting high on drugs, and driving like maniacs, while their fellow Hezbollah fighters are sacrificing their lives and families for the "resistance". Hasn't anyone ever wondered why is it that the "resistance" against the "Israeli enemy" is only the business of the Shiite Lebanese, while the Sunnis, the Christians and the Druze applaud from behind but never join in the fighting? That is not a sign of unity - as is often claimed by Lebanese politicians as they grovel at the feet of the Syrians and Iranians. So, I think the Lebanese government should put its feet where its mouth is. If "resistance" is the modality, then ALL THE LEBANESE - NOT JUST THE SHIITES - SHOULD BE IN THE RESISTANCE.

West Urges Army to Curb Attacks on UNIFIL Amid Insistence Military has Enough Troops in the South
A Western diplomat has reportedly urged Lebanese authorities to "curb" recent attacks on U.N. peacekeepers in the south, warning about a "deteriorating" situation in the area of their deployment.
According to An Nahar daily on Saturday, the diplomat said UNIFIL does not need a permit to carry out its activities although it informed the Lebanese army that it would conduct patrols inside several Lebanese villages earlier in the week.

"That's why we expected the Lebanese Armed Forces to guarantee the security of our contingent," he said. "We ask the LAF to deploy more troops in the south."

"We have obsessions in Lebanon because incidents of stone-throwing on UNIFIL contingents are taking place while they are conducting patrols," the diplomat told the newspaper. "Such incidents make UNIFIL's movements more difficult in south Lebanon."

"We will ask the army to be more effective in cubing such incidents," he said.

The diplomat admitted that there was "tension" but said the "atmosphere wasn't so bad."

"We're not saying that there is a major crisis but we believe that there is some kind of deterioration in the atmosphere in south Lebanon," he added.

In an attempt to overcome the repercussions of the villagers' attack on the peacekeepers, a meeting was held on Friday at the army command headquarters in Yarze between UNIFIL commander Maj. Gen. Alberto Asarta and deputy army intelligence chief Brig. Gen. Abbas Ibrahim.

As Safir daily said Saturday Asarta stressed during the talks that the incident was now from the past. Ibrahim, in his turn, informed the UNIFIL commander that the army command was keen on cooperation and full coordination with the peacekeepers.

The newspaper quoted high-ranking military sources as saying that "the army sets the level of cooperation and coordination with UNIFIL in accordance with resolution 1701 and not the mood of some diplomats or the interests of some countries."

He stressed that the army alone had the authority to assess the number of troops deployed in the south, saying the military had enough soldiers there and were perfectly playing their role.
