The Egyptian people know the price one has to pay for genuine freedom.

There are thousands of Lebanese prisoners in Syria's jails. But no one complains.

Syria violates Lebanese territory every day by sending troops, kidnapping people, and no one complains.

All of Lebanon's politicians and Patriarchs and Muftis and all the political-religious scum that rule our lives want to preserve the status quo, because they maintain their hold on power and over our lives. Nothing will change. Corruption will continue. Foreign intervention will continue. Wars will continue. Kidnappings will continue. Shortages of water and electricity will continue. Bad roads and infrastructure will continue. The rape of the environment and the stealing of public waterfront property will continue... Political inheritance will continue from father to son, as if we live in the Middle Ages...
Nothing will improve UNLESS we do what the people of Egypt are doing: LAUNCH A SECOND,a THIRD, and a FOURTH REVOLUTION until we get what we deserve: Honesty, respect, freedom, dignity, and a decent government that serves us and not them.
Haven't we had enough of the Hariris, the Aouns, the Gemayels, the Karamis, the Jumblatts, the Frangiyehs, the Salams, the Chamouns.... Haven't we had enough of their grandfathers, fathers, children and grandchildren?
Each one of us is so much better than them and their children and their grandchildren. We are all much more educated, less corrupt, and more deserving of a civilized decent life than their families living in their castles, lording it over us as if we were slaves and serfs to some primitive tribal lord... Lebanon Celebrates its 68th Independence Day
Lebanon commemorated on Tuesday its 68th independence anniversary in downtown Beirut, marking the liberation from the French Mandate which was exercised over Lebanese soil for over 23 years.
President Michel Suleiman, Prime Minister Najib Miqati, and Speaker Nabih Berri headed the officials that joined the celebrations marking the country’s independence.
Defense Minister Fayez Ghosn, Army Commander General Jean Qahwaji, Brazilian Vice-President Michel Tamer and a number of politicians and security figures attended the military parade which was held at Shafiq al-Wazzan Boulevard in Downtown Beirut.
Suleiman placed a wreath on the monument of the Unknown Soldier.
At the end of the parade, the president, PM and speaker headed to the Baabda palace to receive congratulators.
Lebanon received its independence after French troops arrested Lebanese national leaders Beshara al-Khoury, Riad al-Solh, Pierre Gemayel, Camille Chamoun, and Adel Osseiran in Rashaya.
After national and international pressure, the prisoners were released on November 22, 1943 and that day was declared the Lebanese Independence Day.

Even as we were dying, bombed, kidnapped, taken to Syrian jails never to return... Even as terrorist organizations like the PLO and Hezbollah were running amok in our villages and cities, the dumbass Americans and French were telling us that we needed Syria and the Syrian army and the Syrian Intelligence, because they brought STABILITY.

But in the end, it is our fault - we the Lebanese - for allowing rulers like Suleiman, Miqati, Berri, HAriri, Aoun, Gemayel and Geagea and the whole rest of them to rule over us from under the robes of the Patriarchs, Muftis, Sayyids, Imams and all the religious Mafias that run our lives as if we were sheep led to the slaughter every 20 years or so.

At the next elections, we will go elect again the same people that destroy our lives every day, that steal our resources, that impose their fucking sons and daughters every time one of them dies, that deal with foreign countries to maintain themsleves in power, while we pay the price.

LEBANON TO SEND PEACEKEEPING TROOPS INTO SYRIA TO QUELL CIVIL WAR
It is time for the brotherly Arab country of Lebanon to help the artificially-created Syrian entity from further descending into chaos and civil war. The Syrian entity was artificially created by French colonialism at the end of World War I, which placed the Alawite minority clan into positions of power to the detriment of the vast Sunni majority in the country.
The Alawite sect benefited from its collaboration with the colonial power and forced France to clobber together an artificial country made up of vastly diverse sects, cities, and religions. The Mediterranean seacoast cities of Tartous and Lattaqiyeh (Alawite) have nothing to do with the desert cities of Damascus, Homs and Hama (Sunni Arabs), or with any of the other cities in the far north (Aleppo and Qamishli) which are more Armenian, Kurdish and Turkish than Arab, or with the southern Druze cities where the uprising began.
Lebanon should repay its sister Syria by sending peacekeeping troops into Syria to separate the clashing sides there and put an end to the massacres and brutality that both sides have shown. As a model of religious coexistence, Lebanon can provide the stability that the Syrians need to learn how to live together in harmony. The Lebanese can teach the backward Syrians how Alwaites, Druze, Sunnis, Kurds, Armenians, neanderthals and cro-magnons can coexist together without the savage rule of the Assad clan or the violence that opponents of the Assads are demonstrating in the streets across Syria.
The Arab League should set up an ARAB DETERRENCE FORCE (قوة الردع العربية) made up of 90% Lebanese troops and token troops from other Arab countries such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait. The Lebanese troops can separate the belligerents and impose the order needed in the streets of the artificial Syrian entity until such time as negotiations can be held between the parties and decisions are made to create a separate Alwaite country on the Syrian coast, a Syrian Arab Sunni entity from the cities of Homs, Hama and Damascus, annex the Kurdish north to the very successful Autonomous Kurdish Region in northern Iraq, and annex the southern Druze region to the Golan Heights.
The Lebanese having experienced those tensions during their civil war of 1975-1990 have a lot to teach the Syrian brutes about the benefits of peaceful coexistence. The Lebanese will not undertake the shelling of the Syrian cities, like the Syrian troops did in Lebanon in the 1970s and 1980s. Instead they will hold workshops and peace rallies to teach the Syrian primitives how to function in the modern world without killings, massacres, and the brutality that the Syrians have been capable of in both Lebanon and Syria. The Lebanese troops will not kidnap ordinary Syrian civilians and put them in jail for the rest of their lives, like the Syrians did during their "peacekeeping" in Lebanon back in the 70s and 80s.
We propose that the Arab League, which has now suspended Syria's membership in it, reconvene and immediately issue a call for Lebanese Army troops to enter - without waiting for a formal agreement - into Syrian territories and begin separating the protagonists. If the troops arrive in Damascus, they should seek to arrest the top levels of the Syrian artificial entity's government - Bashar Assad, Buthaina Shaaban, and all the hoodlums and gangsters running the dictatorship there - and hand them over to international justice where they have to be tried for Crimes Against Humanity. Lebanese troops will not resort to bombing these people or killing them, (which is what Syria did when it entered to put peace in lebanon). They will simply arrest them very humanely and hand them over. This way, the barbaric and backward Syrian people will learn how to handle these situations without resorting to violence and bloodletting. This is how a country like Lebanon can begin civilizing the primitive country of Syria.

The Lebanese can teach the backward Syrians how Alwaites, Druze, Sunnis, Kurds, Armenians, neanderthals and cro-magnons can coexist together without the savage rule of the Assad clan or the violence that opponents of the Assads are demonstrating in the streets across Syria.
The Arab League should set up an ARAB DETERRENCE FORCE (قوة الردع العربية) made up of 90% Lebanese troops and token troops from other Arab countries such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait. The Lebanese troops can separate the belligerents and impose the order needed in the streets of the artificial Syrian entity until such time as negotiations can be held between the parties and decisions are made to create a separate Alwaite country on the Syrian coast, a Syrian Arab Sunni entity from the cities of Homs, Hama and Damascus, annex the Kurdish north to the very successful Autonomous Kurdish Region in northern Iraq, and annex the southern Druze region to the Golan Heights.
The Lebanese having experienced those tensions during their civil war of 1975-1990 have a lot to teach the Syrian brutes about the benefits of peaceful coexistence. The Lebanese will not undertake the shelling of the Syrian cities, like the Syrian troops did in Lebanon in the 1970s and 1980s. Instead they will hold workshops and peace rallies to teach the Syrian primitives how to function in the modern world without killings, massacres, and the brutality that the Syrians have been capable of in both Lebanon and Syria. The Lebanese troops will not kidnap ordinary Syrian civilians and put them in jail for the rest of their lives, like the Syrians did during their "peacekeeping" in Lebanon back in the 70s and 80s.
We propose that the Arab League, which has now suspended Syria's membership in it, reconvene and immediately issue a call for Lebanese Army troops to enter - without waiting for a formal agreement - into Syrian territories and begin separating the protagonists. If the troops arrive in Damascus, they should seek to arrest the top levels of the Syrian artificial entity's government - Bashar Assad, Buthaina Shaaban, and all the hoodlums and gangsters running the dictatorship there - and hand them over to international justice where they have to be tried for Crimes Against Humanity. Lebanese troops will not resort to bombing these people or killing them, (which is what Syria did when it entered to put peace in lebanon). They will simply arrest them very humanely and hand them over. This way, the barbaric and backward Syrian people will learn how to handle these situations without resorting to violence and bloodletting. This is how a country like Lebanon can begin civilizing the primitive country of Syria.

Berri: Dialogue Necessary Not Just for Internal Reasons
Speaker Nabih Berri revealed on Friday that he will once again propose to President Michel Suleiman the resumption of the national dialogue.
He told al-Manar television: “The dialogue is necessary for not just internal reasons, but external ones as well.”
“There can be no real Lebanon without dialogue,” he stressed.
The speaker had told Ad Diyar newspaper in remarks published on Friday that dialogue is necessary throughout the various phases a country goes through, especially during critical times.
Berri emphasized the importance of resuming the dialogue without preconditions “because it will no longer be a dialogue if conditions are set.”
“People are wrong in believing that Hizbullah’s arms will be discussed at the dialogue table,” he told al-Manar.
“The defense strategy that the dialogue addresses is based on the equation of the army, people, and resistance,” he continued.
Addressing the dispute over the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, the speaker noted: “The matter is related to its constitutional legitimacy and the way it was formed.”
“Lebanon’s democracy allows contentious issues to be subject to a vote at cabinet and they are also free to subject it to a vote at parliament,” Berri stated.
Earlier on Friday, Voice of Lebanon radio reported that the speaker is expected to hold talks with President Suleiman before Eid al-Adha.
