Lebanese Mafia Godfather: Walking with His Father's Killers

The Saudi Prime Minister of Lebanon, Mr. Saad Hariri, is a perfect example of the Mafia structure of the Lebanese political milieu.

Here is a guy who inherited his power simply because he was once a sperm in his father's testicles - another one of the hundreds of examples of "sperm politicians" in Lebanon. He is a total novice who is learning on the job. Because he is a rookie, he is being yanked around by the regime of his real homeland of Saudi Arabia, by his so-called allies the Americans (who continue to kiss ass to the Saudis, September 11 and Bin Laden notwithstanding), and now by the Syrians and the Iranians. No one knows what this guy really believes anymore.

For one, when his father Rafik was assassinated in downtown Beirut in 2005 by the Baathist Syrian regime with the almost certain involvement of Hezbollah in the bombing, Hariri has attacked Hezbollah and Syria as his father's killers and pledged to bring them to justice, leading in the process a so-called "Cedars Revolution" against Syria and for (finally) Lebanese independence from the dictatorship next door.

Since 2005, a UN investigation has been ongoing into the Hariri assassination, to which were added about 17 other bombings and assassinations of pro-Hariri politicians and journalists. The Special Tribunal for Lebanon is slated to begin soon its prosecution of (as of yet unnamed) suspects in the assassination(s).

In the interim, there was a change in the US administration. The Democrat Obama administration is eager to engage Syria and Iran into discussions and talks, as opposed to the bellicose (albeit stupid) posturing of the previous George W Bush administration.

Now there seems to have been a change by the Saudis and the Americans vis-a-vis Syria, and lo and behold, thanks to the reappointment of a US Ambassador in Damascus, the reconciliation between Riyadh and Damascus, and a general thaw between a kiss-ass credulous West and the Baathists in Syria, the Syrian regime has returned en force to pulling all the strings in Beirut. To wit, Walid Jumblatt, the Druze Whorelord, is literally begging the Syrians to welcome him in Damascus so he can ask for forgiveness.

The result: Saad Hariri stopped blaming Syria and Hezbollah for the killing of his father; he went to Damascus and begged for forgiveness from his father's own killer the Syrian president Bashar al-Asad; and Saad Hariri, who for years demanded the demilitarization of Hezbollah, is now proclaiming that he, as the Prime Minister of Lebanon, will support Hezbollah if the latter triggers another devastating war with Israel. That war is imminent, with the Iranians raising the stakes of their nuclear program, and Iran's Hezbollah dogs in Lebanon barking louder and louder against the "Zionist entity".

In essence, like the Saudi-American poodle that he is, Saad Hariri is now walking alongside and behind his father's killers, and trashing all the principles he claimed to have upheld for a brief 4 years since 2005. Like the Sunni dog that he is, he is returning to his roots - and to the legacy of dozens of Sunni Prime Ministers before him - of destroying Lebanon for the sake of non-Lebanese causes.

To all those "Cedars Revolution" idiots out there in Lebanon, and also in Florida, Washington DC, and Toronto and elsewhere, who believed in the miracle of the transformation of this Sunni dog into something resembling a Lebanese patriot, your idiocy shall remain a shining example of inferior intellectual acumen and degenerate political opportunism. Perhaps the Batrak your hero, even in his senility and his own Maronite imbecility, might save the day. Who knows? Let us pray to God, to Saint Maroun, to Saint Rafka and all the monks, priests, nuns, and others in the crowded Maronite pantheon, because in the grand tradition of Maronite politics, faith, religion, and other stupid beliefs have often pre-empted the little bit of gray matter that may exist somewhere in the numskulls of the regressive mountain brutes that the Maronites essentially are.
