Samir Kuntar, to be imminently released by Israel in exchange for 2 Israeli soldiers corpses, carried out his "operation" (i.e. killing a 4-year old and a 6-year old Israeli girls) on April 22, 1979. This was a good 3 years before the Israeli invasion of 1982 and subsequent occupation which Hezbollah claims to be a "resistance" against.
1979 too is the year that Khomeini toppled the Shah and founded the Islamic Republic of Iran. Hezbollah wasn't even born yet.
So by what criterion is Hezbollah claiming Kuntar to be one of its own? Why is Hezbollah going so far to have him released, at the price of Lebanon's destruction by Israel in 2006? Kuntar was acting under the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), then a communist Syrian appendage, acting in the Lebanese south against all agreements between the Lebanese State and the Palestinian movements. In fact, when Israel invaded in 1982, Hezbollah's Shiites welcomed the Israeli troops as liberators, with flowers and rice, because the Shiites had had enough of the PLO and the PFLP and all the other Palestinian gangs by then.
So why is Hezbollah making a hero out of this scumbag? Why is the entire Lebanese government of Fuad Siniora, the new President Michel Sleiman, and Hariri's March 14 bastards celebrating and ass-kissing Hezbollah about this suddenly discovered "hero"? What country is this that makes murderers like Kuntar as heroes, war criminals like Jumblatt and Geagea as leaders, yet puts in jail innocent Palestinians like Youssef Chaabane for crimes they did not commit but whose confessions were extracted under torture by the pro-Syrian Lebanese Intelligence and the corrupt Lebanese judiciary?
Shame on Lebanon.

I am so disppointed to see all the Lebanese Government ready to welcome this piece of shit called Kuntar as a hero. It is a shame on Lebanon and on all Lebanese. Can u imagine how the world is gonna treat us from now on?? We the Lebanese who are pround of our heritage are now so low in the scale of morality... Siniora and Sleiman should know better than go this extra mile and kiss Hezbollah's ass...
I fully agree with your disgust and utter revulsion at how low can Lebanon's politicians sink.
This is yet another day when Lebanon's good reputation continues to be trashed by Hezbollah's actions in the 1980s (kidnapping and killing of teachers and priests). The stunning thing is how Sleiman is revealing himself to be a much worse piece of shit than Siniora.
Fuck the Lebanese people because they eat up the lies and the hypocrisy, even when they are the first ones to become its victims. I don't understand the self-destructive nature of the people of Lebanon.
Is Sleiman just a puppet? How else can a man allow for such public appraisals for the return of a murderer who crushed a baby's head to death with his rifle butt?

This whole thing irks me - Israel is disgusting for settling for such a demeaning, crappy deal with a force of evil like the Hezbollah and releasing Kuntar. And Lebanon, what kind of country is it that they can glorify a man who crushed a 4 year old's head!!! And what are its people that they welcomed this man with cheers!
