Not only this, but listen what this "figure" of the Lebanese political pantheon said yesterday, as the haggling over ministerial posts is underway for the formation of the great Siniora government:
"The Environment Ministry is not befitting of my son".
In other words, this fence-sitter asshole of a vile politician from the backwaters of the Lebanese mountain (Bteghrine) where people still live in caves, who would have been hanged a long time ago in Saudi Arabia and China for corruption, feels that the environment is a lowly thing, much beneath the dignity of his motherfucker son to take charge of it.
Not only does this barbarian have no respect for the importance of the environment, but he thinks he is more important than it. The real reason he thinks it is beneath his retarded son is that there is NO MONEY TO STEAL FROM THE MINISTRY OF THE ENVIRONMENT. That's the real reason. Instead, in the Ministry of the Environment, the Murr clan will have, once in their lives, to GENUINELY CARE for something that is of value. But these orthodox fuckers have no clue and couldn't give a damn about something that is ethical, honest and good on the long term. They can't stuff their pockets with the environment, so what's the point?
And they call this a democracy? With people like this lining up for the next Siniora government, where are we going to muster hope for Lebanon? What a shame. What a disgrace.

I like the way you described Murr family. Isn't it a direct consequence of sectarian, tribal really, political system? Murr family is one of many. Nepotism got promoted even within FPM... To say, "The Environment Ministry is not befitting of my son", proves that decency is an unknown word for most, if not all politicians. I just don't see how this vicious circle of clanish mentality is going to be changed. Those in power won't give up their privileges, and the others who would like to change the system, have no chance to get in. Or, if some manage to get in, they may start to behave as those they hated. Money&power are the most powerful aphrodisiac, and very few are decent enough to keep a balance. "PSP" is tradition already in Lebanon.
This vicious circle of primitive tribal governance can - and must - be broken.
The Lebanese have the tool and it is called elections.
I call on the supposedly highly educated Lebanese cavemen who live in Baskinta and the area which Michel el-Murr represents in Parliament, not to vote for him next time. It's as simple as that.
There are literally hundreds of administrators, businessmen, doctors, engineers and university professors who are by far more intelligent, more qualified and more honest that the bastard Michel el-Murr.
One of them should run as a candidate in the 2009 elections and the people of Baskinta should stop behaving like homo erectus and start voting like homo sapiens.
This way, Michel el-Murr can sit in Baskinta shoveling manure and growing chickpeas, instead of looking down on the Environment Ministry because he can't steal money from it.

Funnily enough, there is a man who lives in a cave in and around Baskinta.
He spends his days praying and walking from village to village in the upper Metn (Baskinta to Wadi Karam and back).
