There we go, Siniora's incompetence goes on display: He has backed down before the terrorist organization Hezbollah by rescinding the two decisions his government took against the Iranian proxy last week.
As if Lebanon didn't have enough problems with Hezbollah, we needed the incompetent Siniora and his March 14 to give the terrorist group another victory.
The first victory was when Siniora accepted wholeheartedly in 2005 to enter Hezbollah's "resistance" platform into his government's program. This gave Hezbollah an implicit OK to continue its "resistance" activities in the South, thus leading the whole country into a confrontation with Israel in July 2006, which everyone knew since the 1960s Lebanon could never win. By endorsing Hezbollah's "resistance", Siniora essentially gave Syria a news lease by proxy on its occupation of Lebanon, since it was able to continue its policy of harassing ISrael from Lebanon instead of from the quiet (since 1974) Golan Heights which Syria wants back.
The second victory that SIniora gave Hezbollah is when - either out of the big nowhere in his empty head, or under prodding from the American cowboy - he opened the hornets' nest by attacking Hezbollah's telephones and cameras, instead of attacking Hezbollah's missiles! Like Don Quixote's windmills, Hezbollah's telephones and cameras turned out to be a giant enemy to defeat on the surface, but a real silly way to lose before Hezbollah in reality.
So thank you, Siniora and March 14 - and George Bush I might add. Continue to stir the pot, even as you have no idea what you are cooking. The Lebanese people don't want Hezbollah, they don't want Hezbollah's missiles, and they have had it with Hezbollah's "resistance". But they also don't want to burn their country to score silly victories against Iran thousands of miles away.
Unless the Bush administration and its lackeys in Beirut - Siniora, Hariri, JUmblatt, Geagea and Gemayel and all of the rest of them - are willing to go all the way and deal a major strike and get it done with once and for all , which is something that the Lebanese people may be willing to accept if it is radical and definitive, then they should not start wars they can't win. They should not start wars they can't finish. They should not tamper with our lives. We have had it after 40 years of others settling their scores in our small country.
We want real solutions. Siniora is not the solution. He is absolute incompetence shoved down out throats.
